Çhapter 136: the trial of the guardian

Chapter 136: Trial of the Guardian

There was a conspicuous sighting of the Guardian everywhere. It spilled out actual power, transformed from its shape, like its figure was the spirit of the forest. Every move it made was heard along with the thud that travelled through the floor to Anita and Jace.

“Be careful,” Jace said, concentrated, his tone becoming rather serious. His fox bead shone even brighter as the moments ticked by and his nine tails fanned themselves out, briefly emitting a dim glow under the luminosity of light.

Anita simply agreed, clutching the handle of her sword with her fingers. She clearly sensed the might of the Guardian—he was as old as the forest itself, hard as a rock, and he penetrated into the very spirit of the crone’s forest.

The Guardian lifted his arm, and from the ground mere beautiful, twisting, and coiling vines sprang up. With their muzzles as pointed directly at Anita and Jace, the rifles were as tight and slick as spears.
