The hooded man's warning left behind a heavy tension as an invisible fog. The duo rushed their way through the forest while mental alertness supplied the pair's eyes. Each sound in the forest after the hooded man's warning made Anita's heartbeat race out of control because the new silence felt unnaturally loud.
She asked Jace while looking his way "Do you believe what he said was correct?"
Jace examined their environment with unchanging golden eyes while keeping his face a blank mystery. Regardless of whether the statement was true or false our journey continues forward. He pointed toward the darkness which has sheltered our path since the beginning.
Anita frowned. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
Jace told us this because he did not want to cause any concern. Tonight showed us time runs short before we face whatever darkness looms in our future.
