Chapter 207: A Ghost from the Past.
Jace rested against the wall of the ancient temple while his vacant eyes examined the flickering lights of the candles in front of him. Both old incense scents and forest moisture combined together in the air. Since childhood the temple served as his sacred retreat which granted him peace from worldly disturbances and comforted an exhausted spirit. During this night he discovered there was no way to seek comfort. Only the lingering echoes of Anita’s words and the suffocating weight of his own regret.
The battle is finished since the person I fought for has pulled himself out of the struggle.
