Figure Shit Out

Artemis' POV

Something wasn't right.

I had been watching Hera carefully ever since she returned, and everything about her felt… calculated.

The way she always seemed to know exactly what to say to stir tension.

The way she positioned herself near Don Carlo, planting venomous ideas in his mind.

And the way she looked at Aiden, not with love, but with possession.

No, something wasn't right.

And I was going to find out what it was.

My suspicions grew, although she looked like me, she was nothing like me, she had a force that was raging and deceitful.

It started with a whisper.

A conversation I wasn't supposed to hear.

I had gone to the Creek organization to gather the last of Aiden's things, things he had been forced to leave behind when Don Carlo stripped him of everything.

I had just finished packing when I heard low voices down the hall.

Hera's voice.

And… Kane's?
