Artemis' POV
I wasn't the type of woman to sit back and let my enemies weave their plans.
No.
Hera thought she could manipulate Aiden.
She thought she could play the perfect victim, the devoted fiancée returning for what was hers.
But she had made a fatal mistake.
She underestimated me.
And now, she was going to face the consequences.
I decided to confront my sister, maybe there was an atom of sense or remorse, even though I could feel my insides screaming at me to not do so
I found Hera in one of the grand sitting rooms of the Creek estate, lounging like she owned the place.
Her long red hair cascaded over her shoulders, and a glass of wine was delicately placed between her fingers.
She looked so at ease. So smug.
Like she had already won.
Like the life she had when we were younger was so much shitty, we all deserved better I agree, but like this?
Now, that was about to change.
