Hajun looked at the notification screen and was about to say something but there was suddenly a knoch on the door. "Oppa, can i sleep with you today, i am scared"
"You had a nightmare? come in"
The door opened slowly, and Hana stepped in, clutching a small stuffed rabbit. Her expression was a mix of embarrassment and fear as she shuffled toward Hajun's bed.
"Nightmare again?" Hajun asked, scooting over to make space for her.
Hana nodded, her twin braids swaying as she climbed into bed beside him. "It felt so real… there was this shadow, and it was chasing me. I tried to scream, but no sound came out."
Hajun froze for a moment, his mind flashing back to the shadowy figure he had confronted in the Meditative Realm.
"Did it… look like a person?" Hajun asked cautiously.
Hana blinked, looking up at him with wide eyes. "How did you know?"
"Just a guess," Hajun said quickly, brushing it off. "It was just a dream, Hana. Nothing can hurt you while I'm here."
She didn't look entirely convinced but nodded anyway, hugging her stuffed rabbit tightly.
"You promise?" she whispered.
"I promise," Hajun said, patting her head gently. "Now, get some sleep. You've got school tomorrow."
Hana snuggled into the blanket, her breathing gradually evening out. Hajun, however, lay awake, his mind racing.
The shadow in her dream… could it be connected to the system? Was it just a coincidence?
He glanced at the red screen still floating faintly above him, its glow casting an eerie light in the dark room. The words Eye of Revelation and Iron Fang Style stared back at him.
"This can't just be a random thing," Hajun muttered under his breath. "What if Hana's nightmare was more than that? What if—"
A sudden notification interrupted his thoughts.
[You have been given a Main quest: Create a Family and invite One person]
[Reward:A suitable Basic Martial arts technique will be given to the members]
[Penalty:Loss]
Hajun stared at the notification in disbelief.
"Create a family? Invite someone?" he muttered under his breath, glancing at Hana, who was now fast asleep. The screen's ominous final word, Loss, sent a chill down his spine. What did it mean by "loss"?
His fists tightened, and his mind raced. "What kind of twisted system is this? What does it even mean by family? Blood relatives? Or…"
Another notification appeared, as if responding to his confusion.
[Family Definition: A group bound by mutual trust, loyalty, and shared growth. Members will benefit from your progress and unlock unique abilities as part of the family unit.]
[Requirements: Select and bind at least one person to the family. You will share part of your power with them.]
Hajun's eyes narrowed. "Share my power? That sounds dangerous… but if Hana is connected to all this—if her nightmare was real—then…"
He looked at her again. She looked so small, so vulnerable, clutching her stuffed rabbit. The thought of her being in danger because of him made his chest tighten.
"This is all connected somehow," he muttered. "I don't have a choice, do I?"
The system glowed brighter, as if waiting for his decision.
[Do you wish to bind Hana Kim to your family? Yes/No.]
Hajun hesitated. Could he involve her in this? Would she even want to be part of something she didn't understand? But the thought of the penalty—Loss—loomed over him.
He exhaled sharply. "I can protect her better if she's part of this, right? The system said she'll gain abilities too…"
With a determined look, he pressed Yes.
The screen shimmered, and Hana stirred slightly in her sleep.
[Hana Kim has been successfully added to your family. Family Rank: 1. The bond has unlocked her potential.]
[Reward:Berserker Kung-Fu]
Hajun blinked at the screen in shock.
"Berserker Kung-Fu?!" he whispered, careful not to wake Hana.
He quickly pulled up the details of the technique:
[Berserker Kung-Fu]:A ferocious and instinct-driven martial art that thrives in high-pressure situations. Strength and speed increase exponentially with rising adrenaline, but prolonged use can lead to fatigue or loss of control. Ideal for those with strong emotions and a desire to protect others.
Why would it give her something like this?" Hajun muttered. "Hana isn't a fighter…"
As if hearing his thoughts, the system responded with a new notification.
[Members of the family unit will receive techniques suited to their latent potential.]
[Note: Unlocking a member's potential may awaken hidden traits and abilities unique to them.]
Hajun frowned. "Hidden traits? Hana…?" He looked at her peaceful sleeping face. Could his little sister, who couldn't even handle a scary dream, really have the potential for something so aggressive?
[A Main Quest has been given]
[Main Quest:Fight Seong Jin and win]
[Reward:Observation Skill]
[Penalty:Immediate Transportation to the Ultimate Dimension for 2 hours]
"…What?!, i have to fight that bully?!!" Hajun wasnt too happy about that, atleast it was better than going to an unknown dimension.
Hajun groaned, rubbing his temples as he stared at the latest notification. Fighting Seong Jin was the last thing he wanted to do, especially after the daily torment he endured at school. But the penalty—a full two hours in the mysterious "Ultimate Dimension"—felt like a far worse fate.
"Why does this system hate me?" he muttered under his breath, careful not to wake Hana.
He glanced at her sleeping form, her small hands clutching the stuffed rabbit tightly. She looked so peaceful, so unaware of the chaos surrounding him. Yet, the system's earlier notifications about her potential lingered in his mind. Berserker Kung-Fu… a technique built for adrenaline and emotion? It didn't seem to fit the shy, quiet girl who jumped at her own shadow.
But if the system believed in her potential, maybe he needed to start believing in himself too.
"I'll figure this out," he whispered, determination hardening his voice. "If I can survive this system's insanity, I can handle one school bully."
The next morning, Hajun woke to the smell of instant ramen. His body still ached from the grueling quest yesterday, but he forced himself out of bed. Hana was already dressed in her school uniform, her twin braids neatly tied, as she placed two bowls of ramen on the small kitchen table.
"Morning, Oppa," she said cheerfully, though her eyes darted to his face. "You look… tired. Did you not sleep well?"
"I'm fine," Hajun replied, trying to sound convincing. He sat down and slurped the noodles, his mind racing with thoughts of Seong Jin and the fight that awaited him.
"Are you sure?" Hana pressed. "You've been acting weird lately. And you were talking in your sleep last night—something about a family and… squats?"
Hajun nearly choked on his ramen. "Squats? You must've misheard."
Hana gave him a skeptical look but didn't press further. "Well, whatever it is, just don't get into trouble today, okay?"
"I'll try," he muttered, though he doubted he could keep that promise.
Then he remembered something. "Hey do you feel any different today, like there are some strange moves imagine yourself doing?" Hajun asked, his tone light but probing.
Hana blinked, tilting her head. "Huh? Strange moves? Like… dancing?"
"No, not like dancing. Maybe something more… intense?" Hajun tried to phrase it carefully.
Hana furrowed her brows, thinking for a moment. "Actually… I had this weird dream last night. I was surrounded by shadows again, but this time… I wasn't scared. I fought back. It was like I knew exactly what to do, like my body moved on its own."
Hajun stiffened, his chopsticks pausing mid-air. "Fought back? How?"
Hana's cheeks turned pink. "It was kind of… wild. I was punching and kicking like in one of those martial arts movies. It felt so real. But it's silly, right? I can't even do a cartwheel."
Hajun forced a smile, his thoughts racing. It's not silly. It's Berserker Kung-Fu awakening in her. The system wasn't lying—Hana's potential had already started to manifest.
"Dreams can be strange," he said, trying to downplay it. "Maybe you've been watching too many action shows."
Hana pouted. "I don't even like action shows! You're the one who watches all that martial arts stuff."
Hajun chuckled nervously. "Fair point."
Afterwards, Hajun was walking in the confines of his school ready to enter class, he was uninterrupted which was normal, he then sat on his usual sitting position.
"Yo Hajun, did you bring protection money today, because you know what happens if you don't right?" Seong Jin, a black haired boy with red eyes, he had a slightly muscular body than Kim Hajun.
Hajun clenched his fists under the desk, his jaw tightening. Seong Jin, of course. Couldn't even get through the first class without him showing up.
"I'm not giving you anything today," Hajun said, his voice steadier than he expected.
The classroom fell silent. All eyes were on him, and the tension was palpable. Nobody had ever dared to talk back to Seong Jin before.
Seong Jin's smirk disappeared, replaced by a cold, predatory glare. "What did you just say?"
Hajun stood up slowly, meeting his bully's red-eyed stare. "I said I'm not giving you anything. You want something from me? Try taking it."
The room erupted into hushed whispers.
"Has Hajun lost his mind?"
"Does he have a death wish?"
Seong Jin chuckled, a dark, humorless sound. "You're brave today, aren't you? Fine. Let's see how long that lasts."
He grabbed Hajun by the collar and yanked him up. The teacher was nowhere in sight—probably late, as usual.
"Let's settle this outside," Seong Jin growled.
Hajun didn't resist. He had been expecting this. The Main Quest wants me to fight him anyway. Let's just get it over with.
Now in the courtyard, two students were about to fight. Hajun steeled himself as he readied his stance.
[A fight is being initiated]
[You have been challenged to a fight by a [Non-Ultimate] All stats of the challenger has declared to be in the Lowest tier]
Seong Jin then threw a punch straight at him, Kim Hajun was about to dodge, but then realized. "It's slow?"
The Ultimate Fighting System was a system that allows the user to learn about fighting, but it does not increase the physical stren of the user, in order for that to happen, one must train until they reached their very limits.
Even if Kim Hajun wasn't that strong, he still has a commendable physique.
Iron Fang-Style-Beast Fang?!.
Kim Hajun dodged and then widened his hand, Seong Jin couldn't react, he saw the image of a ferocious beast clamping onto his head and crushing it between its fangs.
Before Seong Jin could make sense of the situation, the side of his face was already grabbed by Kim Hajun and then what occurred next was the other side of his face hitting the ground with a resounding thud?!.
"What the…hell?!, how did Kim Hajun do that"
"That was amazing?!"
"Was Kim Hajun always holding back?!!"
The murmurs of the other students were loud.
"Damn it?!" Seong Jin struggled to get up, his head was spinning and there was as blood trickling down from his mouth.
Kim Hajun looked at him. "Don't ever mess with me Seong Jin"

"I will get my revenge bastard?!!" Seong Jin knew he couldn't win with the exchange just now, he might be a bully but he isn't stupid enough to fight Kim Hajun who suddenly learned to fight.
And plus, he was terrified of that image, it felt something like a savage beast that radiated an intense coldness. Seong Jin stood up from the floor and walked away with his head held down.
Kim Hajun sighed, he followed suit and went to his class.
While he was walking he muttered something under his breath.
