["Old But Slightly Insane Friend": A friend from the past has overgone a terrifying experience, Recruit them into your Family]

[Reward:A Favour from Quetzalcoatl?!]

[Penalty:Eternal Curse]

Hajun looked at Eunmi strangely, wasn't Querzalcoatl a god?, so why was such an ancient being willing to give him his favor.

But does it know about the system and the most important pasrt is. "….Myths exist?"

That was what came out of his mouth, Eunmi who kicked out the person who used to sit next to Hajun tilted her head. "What?"

"Ah nothing" He didn't think of it that much, so he just focused on class, he will worry about system related matters later.

The day passed by in a blur for Hajun. Despite his attempts to focus on the lesson, his mind kept drifting back to the system notification and Eunmi, who was now comfortably occupying the seat next to him as if she'd always been there.

"Old But Slightly Insane Friend"—that title seemed oddly fitting for her, given her eccentric behavior and her strange, almost supernatural aura. But what really unsettled him was the mention of Quetzalcoatl. A god? Favor? Eternal curse? What kind of absurd stakes were being placed on his shoulders?

As the final bell rang, Hajun let out a long sigh, gathering his books and shoving them into his worn-out backpack.

"Hey, Hajun!" Eunmi's bright voice cut through his thoughts. She was already standing by the door, waving at him with an innocent smile that did nothing to ease his nerves. "Walk me home!"

Hajun hesitated. "Didn't you say you were coming to my house again?"

Eunmi blinked, her green eyes glinting mischievously. "Oh yeah, I did! Well then, what are we waiting for?"

Before Hajun could protest, she grabbed his arm and started pulling him out of the classroom.

Kim Hajun and Kang Eunmi both walked on their way towards his house. Hajun was getting used to her being back…to life. "You're much more energetic than before"

Eunmi stopped and turn to him. "Yup, i was getting bored of staying at home so i told the child services that i am stable and can go to school"

"…Did something happen to your parents" Hajun asked, because he knew the child service very well.

Eunmi smiled. "They disappeared, but they left a note saying i would meet them on my own, though it is unfair"

"oh…" He said unsure of what to say next

The two arrived at Hajun's home just as the sky turned a deep shade of violet. Eunmi flopped down onto the living room couch as if she owned the place, stretching out her arms with a satisfied sigh.

"Your couch is surprisingly comfy," she remarked.

"Don't make yourself too comfortable," Hajun said as he dropped his bag by the door and walked into the kitchen. "You're not staying permanently, you know."

Eunmi smirked but didn't reply, instead grabbing a nearby cushion and hugging it close.

As Hajun poured himself a glass of water, he felr a tug in his shirt. "Hey, is that your girlfriend"

Hana asked bluntly. She had an unimpressed look in her eyes. Hajun coughed lightly. "You can't remember her, she was an old friend that got into an accident seven years ago"

Hana pondered a bit. "I…see but i think you have bad taste, if she dyes her hair doesn't that make her a delinquent also yeah she does look cute but she also has sharp looking teeth.

Hajun sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose as he glanced down at his little sister. "Hana, don't judge people by their appearances. And Eunmi's not a delinquent—she's… just been through a lot."

Hana tilted her head, her eyes narrowing slightly in suspicion. "Hmph. Fine. But if she starts acting weird or tries to eat you, I'm calling the police."

From the living room, Eunmi's voice rang out in a sing-song tone. "I can hear you, you know! And for the record, I prefer my meals well-cooked, thank you very much!"

Hana jumped slightly, her face turning pale. "See?! That's exactly what I mean, Hajun!"

Hajun rubbed his temples and gave Hana a gentle push toward her room. "Just… go do your homework or something. I'll handle her."

With a grumble and one last suspicious glance at Eunmi, Hana stomped off to her room.

Hajun walked back into the living room, where Eunmi was now upside down on the couch, her legs hanging over the backrest. Her green eyes sparkled with mischief as she stared at him from her odd position.

"Your sister's fun. She's got spunk," Eunmi said with a wide grin, her sharp teeth glinting slightly under the dim living room light.

"Yeah, well, she's also incredibly nosy," Hajun replied, sitting in the armchair across from her. "Now, can we talk seriously for a second?"

Eunmi flipped herself right-side up and crossed her legs, her demeanor shifting slightly. The playful glint in her eyes dulled, replaced by something more serious. "Alright, Hajun. What's on your mind?"

Hajun hesitated for a moment, his fingers tapping against the armrest. "So if i were to ask you to join my Family would you accept?"

"huh" Eunmi blinked, she was caught off guard by the question.

She then pondered for a moment. "I mean…i don't think that would be a good idea, your sister seems uncomfortable and i-."

"Eunmi, i can feel your lonely, tell me the truth you are emotionally unstable" Eunmi froze. Her playful facade cracked, and for a fleeting moment, Hajun saw something raw in her expression—a deep, aching loneliness that she'd been desperately trying to hide behind sharp teeth and mischievous smiles.

Her lips parted as if to deny it, but no words came out. Instead, she turned her gaze away, her green eyes dimming as she clutched the cushion tighter against her chest.

"…You're not wrong," she said quietly.

Hajun leaned forward, his voice soft but firm. "Eunmi, whatever happened to you—whatever brought you back—it doesn't change the fact that you're still you. And you're not alone. You don't have to face this by yourself."

Eunmi's shoulders trembled slightly. "But what if… What if I hurt you? Or Hana? There's something wrong with me, Hajun. I feel it. It's like something is crawling beneath my skin, whispering things I can't understand. What if one day I lose control?"

"Well, i guess i'll just have to make sure you don't, I myself has something strange going on with me" He placed a hand on hers.

She stayed still for a moment."l—whatever, i guess i don't mind joining your family, just promise me to not abandon me"

[Congratulations, You have received a Title [Favoured by a Winged Serpent]

[The Human Eunmi has joined your Family]

[A random Basic martial arts is being selected from the potential of the member]

[Warning?! Quetzalcoatl wants to interfere, do you accept Y/N]

Hajun stared at the screen in front of him, his mind racing. Quetzalcoatl? The god was offering to interfere—he couldn't help but wonder what that would entail. The stakes had already been raised so high, but this… this felt different. The presence of a god, even one like Quetzalcoatl, was not something he had anticipated.

Eunmi, sensing his hesitation, turned to him, her expression more serious than before. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"Ah it's nothing, i just didn't expect you to say yes" Hajun rubbed the back of his neck l, thankfully she couldn't see the red screen.

"Oh, well ok, come sit with me then" She patted the space near the couch, Hajun didn't hesitate and sat there.

He then turned to look at the message after seeing Eunmi was lost in her own world.

Quetzalcoatl wanted to choose a Martial arts for her, it could either be good if it wants her ti be safe so he pressed Y.

Hajun pressed "Y" without hesitation, his finger lingering on the screen for just a moment before confirming the choice. The weight of the decision settled on him, but there was no turning back now. Eunmi had agreed to join his Family, and if this favor from Quetzalcoatl could help her, he had to take the chance.

Suddenly, a strange warmth filled the room, and Hajun's screen flickered briefly. The light in the room dimmed just slightly, and for a split second, the very air around him seemed to shift. He could feel it—the god's presence, lingering just at the edge of his perception, heavy and vast.

Quetzalcoatl's voice echoed once more, but this time, it was more distant, as though coming from beyond a veil.

"I have granted you a portion of my power. Eunmi, you are now bound to the ancient arts. Prepare yourself."

As the voice faded, the screen in front of Hajun changed once again. A series of ancient symbols appeared, glowing faintly before they melted into one, forming a new notification.
