After failing to become a Tama-Artist, a group of people who wield Rei to control mystical jewels known as Tama, Lucien "Lucy" bitterly lost his mother to the "kyuketsuki" left in her by his father. He planned to seek revenge against those who made his mother's life a living hell. 

However, an unfortunate incident led to his death, and he ended up in the first Yōkai no Mon theater, where he gained power at a terrible cost. 

Lucy's actions become increasingly malevolent, but the unexpected news of his long-lost daughter forces Lucy to reexamine his actions. 

In a world where those with the Nana no Tsumi bodies, and reijuus are craved for, will Lucien's actions affect those around him, and hopefully find his salvation?

Throughout the entire Kurenai Village, no, the whole island, no clan hates mortals more than the Katsuragi clan. Even Tama-Artists born to mortals could only settle for guard duty in the branch clans.

There is also a dark rumor that the Katsuragi clan had adopted mortals to work in their grand mine near the northern peripheries of the island.

The thing about rumors is that some of them are true.

A group of mine workers, tied in iron shackles, sang a haunting melody as they used their picks to dig inside the mine rhythmically. If one of them went off course with his digging, it would harm the others as well.

The mine workers were sweating profoundly, a testament to the gruesome work of the day. Despite their initial tiredness, they still weren't going to get any break; in fact, they hadn't eaten anything since morning, and some of them were sure to sleep with empty stomachs.

However, they were all too powerless to defy this fate.
