C8 - Reaping Re-Cultivation

The Elder was snoozing. As his face grew more and more lascivious with each second, Yin Kai made sure nobody else was in the pavilion.

Then he shouted, "What are you doing with that female disciple?!?!"

The elder woke up in shock. "I'm - I did- BRAT! Why the hell are you back here?"

"Why, I reached the Qi Opening Realm. The Elder Hall sent me to pick a cultivation art."

"Is that so?" The elder harrumphed.

The library pavilion elder, Lu Gu, was the only elder Yin Kai treated this way. They were alike enough that they were always throwing each other under the bus. That being said, they both knew that they both 'secretly' liked it.

Elder Lu was the only one in charge of the Library Pavilion. Supposedly, he could handle it himself. The other elders mostly let him be and made way for him, so Yin Kai was blessed to stay on his good side.

The elder picked up the books. "Seven Fists of Fury, Sapping Method, Poison Rebirth-"

Yin Kai instantly shivered. The elder was scanning him with his divine sense.

"Interesting, looks like you awakened a special body constitution. Here, take this." Using his divine sense, the elder transcribed the cultivation methods onto a nearby scroll. "Here's how to not die."

Handing it over to Yin Kai, he added,"Now SCRAM, kid."

Yin Kai cupped his hands, "A thousand thanks to the library elder!"

Elder Lu snorted in return and returned the books to their previous places. Nothing in the library, not even a speck of dust, was out of place. Then, he began to let out small sighs as he half-feigned his sleep.

Yin Kai took the chance to swagger on out. It was time to feed the chickens.

Walking over to the chicken breeding pavilion, he smiled and waved at the passing senior sister Su Ling.

Entering his personal breeding pavilion, he saw a note. It was left by the caretaker, Disciple Elder Mo, tallying the changes that had occurred during his time in sect prison.

He smiled. Disciple Elder Mo, while a powerless cripple, truly performed his duties to the sect in a clearly well-honored fashion.

He had shown his selfless acts to the sect for far too long. As such, the sect indirectly allowed him to "sub-in" for some of the more lucrative sect jobs.

Now that he was no longer in jeopardy of losing his spot as chicken keeper, Yin Kai made the obvious choice.

Grabbing all the spirit roosters, he added them to the "Sect Food" cage. The primary reason that the spirit chickens were raised was simple.

Higher quality chickens equals higher quality food.

After transferring them to be given to the sect, he sent Bae Re for the daily impregnation task.

While Spirit chicken eggs naturally held a higher price, fertilized spirit chicken eggs were even better.

Due to Bae Re's immense vitality, he managed to work all 45 hens in approximately 3 hours.

Normally, the resulting eggs would most likely result in a regular chicken. A chicken paired with a chicken had a 0.1% chance of becoming a spirit chicken.

If a spirit chicken paired with a regular chicken, there was a 5% chance of the baby chicken becoming a spirit chicken.

If a spirit chicken paired with a spirit chicken, the chances went up to 10%.

If Bae Re mated with a Spirit Hen, the chances went up to 100%.

Spirit Hens took longer to lay eggs. They only laid about 1 egg per week. As a result, most breeders bred the spirit roosters with regular hens, and slowly added spirit hens to their personal stock.

The unfertilized spirit chicken eggs sold for fifteen times the value of a chicken egg. However, to the sect, quotas were quotas, and spirit chickens were spirit chickens.

But while Bae Re led to a faster rate with spirit hens, he could breed even faster. If Yin Kai paired Bae Re with a regular hen, he would still have a 50% chance rate of baby spirit hens.

Coming at an average of 3.5 spirit hens per week per pairing, he had an immense lead over everyone else.

Hence the trade for Bae Re.

While Bae Re did his thing, Yin Kai began to cultivate the 'Sapping Method.' He slowly dropped from his practice in the Bone Binding Prison.

3rd stage Qi Opening, 2nd stage, 1st stage… Qi Opening early stage…

Body Formation 9th stage. He stopped circulating the Sapping Method.

He began to work the Poison Rebirth Art. By circulating his inherent poisons from his body constitution, he successfully dropped to the Body Formation early stage.

Grabbing Bae Re, he went home.

While Bae Re began his continued conquests in his personal cages, Yin Kai began to cultivate the Ancestral Origin Transformation Art.

Over the next week, he repeated the process. He rocketed back to the Body Formation 10th stage, only to fall back to the early stage.

Between caring the chickens, he repeated this twice more. Within two weeks he had cultivated back to the Qi Opening 4th stage.

Within a month, he had cultivated to the Qi Opening 12th stage. It was time to advance a great realm.
