Yin Kai stepped out of of his house.
Qi Transformation Realm, Early Stage!!
Even better, in the chicken pavilion, one of Bae Re's sons appeared to finally have his daddy's genes. Yin Kai named him Bae Li.
Yin Kai moved Bae Li's mother to his house. He then traded his Spirit Hens with the other Chicken Keepers to mix up lineages.
The last month was truly fruitful.
Now all Yin Kai had to do was regular check-ins. He no longer had to wait on Bae Re, which hastened his cultivation.
After adding the surplus from the chicken pavilion to the cages at his home, he now had a total of 75 adult Spirit Chickens as his personal property.
Accordingly, it was time to sell. He went to the Elder Hall and informed them of his increase in rank. After receiving a 100 martial coin stipend, he requested a day's leave to visit the Bazaar.
The cultivation world was split into four major factions.
The Sunset Sea Coalition controlled the island factions of the great sea on the southeast of the world map. Comprising of three first class sects, this area lay mostly untouched by war.
The Imperial Gu Sect was a large superfaction that controlled the southwestern continent.
The northern continent was owned by two factions that were constantly at war. The Alliance of Ancient Clans held the western half.
Controlled by the artifact-refining Huo Clan, they owned most of the righteous sects in the nearby areas from their refining prowess alone.
To the east lay the Holy Land of Skulls. A coalition of evil cultivators, they despised the Huo clan.
The bazaar, located at the border between the Alliance and the Holy Land, was kept under strict cease-fire. On the alliance side, the nearby Martial Fist Temple, Frozen Sea Palace, and Golden Buddha Temple all resided near the Bazaar.
As Yin Kai took a step outside the temple, he smiled. Some fellow disciples were traveling towards the bazaar, and he was able to add one of his cages to their cart.
Out of his 75 spirit chickens, he had stuffed 45 of them to sell. While this would leave him with less chickens to breed, it would allow him to buy materials for a stronger cage.
Once he arrived at the Bazaar, he set up a stall. He managed to haggle until he sold all of his chickens and the cage for a whopping 2892 martial coins.
He began to walk around and view the various stalls. He saw some spirit fruits and spirit herbs, but he was primarily looking for metal rods to create his new cage.
Once he found them he could use the remainder of his money.
Noting what was where, he walked over to the nearby smithy.
With the Huo Clan outlawing the act of martial artifact refining across the alliance, the only thing left was small, everyday appliances… Such as metal rods.
Negotiating with the shophand, he managed to get enough rods to create a three tier, early Immortal Opening stage compliant, backyard-spanning chicken coop for the low cost of 730 martial coins.
With his remaining 2162 coins, he began to look around. He had a slot available in his Ancestral World of Origin, so he might as well use it.
Alternatively, he also could buy a rare Spirit Herb to attempt a bloodline change in one of his chickens.
He paused for a moment at a stall from the Fire Palace. "What's that?" Yin Kai asked.
The buxeous red-haired disciple leaned in. "I found it near our Fire Palace's Spirit Chicken Pavilion. Supposedly, it's a red chicken feather, but maybe- just maybe- it might be a feather from our Fire Palace's Holy Pheonix."
She reached out and poked his chest. "50 Martial Coins."
Yin smiled back at her. "10 Martial coins. It's just a feather, it lacks the brilliance of a Phoenix, and besides- any higher, and I'd have to poke you too."
The female disciple blushed. She instinctively looked down. 'Yes, I was flirting with him, but not to actually DO anything. Just make the sale girl!!'
"15 Martial Coins." She replied evenly.
"Done. My name is Yin Kai. I'm with the Martial Fist Temple. Feel free to find me with any chicken-related inquiries."
Yin Kai smiled, picked up the feather, and gave her the coins. Their hands touched imperceptibly for a second before she pulled away. "You… Can call me Yin."
"Oh? Nice to meet you, Yin." Laying a certain form of special emphasis on her name, Yin Kai left the stall.
