C14 - Slurpfest from the Walk

Yin Kai put on his fighting boots. Made with leather, metal, and a thick cloth, they did a good job of increasing his attack power while keeping his feet flexible.

He then left the sect to search for poison herbs. The inscription that Elder Lu had provided him with gave him a way to stop the poison from spreading outside his body.

Of course, he had already been taught such a path by his mother. But how was he supposed to know that his innate constitution had activated?

Without such a method, he would have straight up killed the second elder and corroded her entire body, leaving nothing left over. Luckily, she was fine.

His ancestral qi was slowly taking another shape. Due to his inborn constitution, it could be considered as Ancestral Poison Rebirth Qi.

That being said, his qi was not quite strong enough in terms of poison, hence the trip outside.

Yin Kai applied for 3 days leave and prepared to leave the sect. He then left towards the backwoods.

The area in between the three sects and the bazaar was off limits. However, disciples commonly fought in the areas around them.

After running for 4 hours, he reached a portion of the woods that actually grew herbs. Now that he was able to control his poison, he might as well make it stronger.

Yin Kai began to comb the woods like crazy. Every time he found a poisonous herb, he treated the same as a 6 year old in the candy pavilion. He ate it.

But then… He found the mother lode. A sprawling expanse of poison ivy upon tree after tree, as far as the eye could see.

As Yin Kai began to slurp the ivy like a bowl of noodles, he began to hear the sounds of fighting nearby. He slowly backed around the trees to check.

There were a total of 12 combatants. One was from the Golden Buddha Temple. He appeared to be fighting alongside one of the Martial Fist Temple acolytes.

Against them stood 10 cultivators in the Qi Transformation realm from the Frozen Sea Palace.

A beam of light appeared above the Golden Buddha Temple cultivator's head and slammed into four of the Frozen Sea Palace disciples' heads, thoroughly incapacitating them. He began to summon another one.

Unfortunately, this held him back for a moment, allowing one of the Frozen Sea Palace disciples to close in.

Fortunately, the female Martial Fist Temple disciple was strong enough to hold him back. However, this gave another the chance to run through.

"Seven Hands of Harm!"

Ying Kai had been perfecting the Seven Fists of Fury, and modifying it to his own tune.

A series of qi hands struck out at the three closest Frozen Sea Palace members.

Liver punch!

Eye Strike!

The three cultivators were momentarily stunned.

Gonad Grab!

The foremost cultivator fainted on the spot.

This gave the buddhist cultivator enough time to destroy the remainder of the wayward people.

With a shining golden light, the battlefield was cleared.

Yin Kai swaggered on out of the trees.

"Amitabha, brother." The buddhist smiled politely.

Cupping his hands, Yin Kai responded in kind. "This acolyte is Yin Kai. Might I ask the name of my junior sister's benefactor?"

"This buddhist cultivator goes by the name of Pu Deng. We thank you for your timely assistance. You are our benefactor just as much as I am hers."

Yin Kai smiled. This kind of person was very easy to get along with.

After a short discussion, they each chose their portion of thr surrounding loot. Yin Kai received a spatial ring and a small carving knife and left it at that.

Since Pu Deng already had a spatial ring, and Yin Kai had dealt the second-most damage, he was able to get it with no issue.

Pu Deng appeared to be fairly high up in the Golden Buddha Temple's hierarchy.

"Pu Deng, may we meet as friends in the next inter-sect competition."

With another thought, he added, "Also, you got a little something on your robes. You might want to change before you return to the sect."

The pair blushed.

Yin Kai left the general area and went back to slurping the poisoned ivy.

Once he ate approximately half the poison ivy in the forest, the sun started to go down. Not to be undeterred, Yin Kai continued through the night.

He was surprised not to have seen any beasts in the area, but with no sounds or erupting auras raging he wasn't too* worried.

When he had completed his inhalation of about 80% of the ivy, he felt a 'pull' on his body.

Slowly, he threaded his ways through the trees, using them for cover against the location of the pull. It seemed to be absorbing his poison qi as he used it on the vines, and any excess outside his body.

Once he felt he got closer, he stopped using his poison qi to locate it.

That's when he saw it.
