C13 - Copycat Conclusions

Yin Kai smiled. In his first cage, he now had a full-grown firetail hen, a full-grown infernal hen, a full-grown speedfoot hen, a bigeye rooster, two fire-feather roosters, and a poison-tail rooster.

The nine mutated spirit hens also lived here to breed with the roosters and (fingers crossed) eventually give birth to baby mutated spirit roosters.

He looked at the second cage. It was holding two sets of chickens: nine, unmutated Spirit Hens, and the eight chickens from the third cage that had eaten the Ancestral Pill of Origin.

They were still growing and had yet to gain their feathers... Their slow speed sometimes made him nervous, but, well, what's a guy to do?

He continued feeding them. Aside from these, the cages held a total of 35 normal hens for breeding purposes.

Yin Kai let Bae Re finish his rounds before cultivating the Ancestral Origin Transformation Art. Over time, the success of Bae Re's offspring was raising the efficacy of the art itself.

Yin Kai was currently in the Qi Transformation 1st stage. He should be able to run around outside the sect unhindered.

To make his body used to his new great realm, however, he decided to cultivate until he reached the top of the Qi Transformation realm for the first time.

The Sun and Moon passed. The next morning, he heard a knock on his gate.

It was the shy Senior Sister Su Ling from the chicken pavilion.

Stopping his cultivation, he greeted her, and she returned in kind. When he asked if she needed anything, she pointed to the metal rods on the ground.

"I take it nobody has claimed the mission you left on the board yet?"

"Nope. You can fuse these?"

The girl nodded. She was slender in all the right ways, with brown hair cut in a bowl around her face.

"Well then, if you're available we can start."

She nodded. The two got to work fusing the metal rods together. After a short period, they built the first wall.

It took them a total of three hours of hard, grueling work to set it all up, but afterwards they leaned back and drank tea. Their work complete, the chickens could now roam across the entirety of his backyard, and up and down the three floors of their new environment.

As more chickens were raised, this would increase the number of chickens he could hold at a time.

Yin Kai smiled towards Su Ling. This senior sister of his truly was a windfall.

Su Ling shyly reached her eyes towards his face. "How's… Bae Re?"

"He's doing pretty great. Now that we built this, he can run in between all of the different cages, so I'm quite set in terms of both Spirit Chicken production and breeding further mutations."

"Hey, Bae Re! Come thank senior sister."

Bae Re waddled over to her. With a short bow, the rooster made his thanks.

Su Ling, on the other hand, tried hard to avoid looking in between his legs.

"Ummm… So.. I was noticing how your chicken at the pavilion gave a higher output, like Bae Re, and I was wondering if, well, when you get another one, I could use it in my pavilion for a time?"

"Senior Sister…" Yin Kai dazzled her with his brilliance. "Since you were the one to gift me Bae Re, I am more than happy to let you borrow Bae Le whenever. You can pull him from my pavilion an hour each day to suit your needs."

"He should be able to complete the job within that timeframe, and I'm certain he'd be more than happy to. I haven't had an unfertilized egg since I put him in charge."

"Mmm." Su Ling replied awkwardly before running off as fast as she could.

Watching the girl disappear, Yin Kai wondered if there was anything else he could do for her.

Before he could do anything, however, the great elder appeared on his doorstep.

"Junior Disciple, you visited the second elder's house yesterday. What did you discuss?"

Yin Kai cupped his hands. "Responding to the Great Elder Ke Tian, this Yin went to talk to Elder Su on behalf of Elder Ji Ye."

"This disciple was forced to stand with his face in a corner for 3 hours to appease the second elder's fury."

The great elder smiled. "For your trouble."

He handed Yin Kai a small sack of martial coins before disappearing.

Yin Kai turned around, only to feel the wind shift behind his back.

"Yin Kai greets the Head Treasury Elder Ji Ye!"

"Brat, you were at the second elder's house yesterday. What happened?!"

"Responding to the Head Treasury Elder Ji Ye, this Yin went to talk to Elder Su on behalf of Elder Ke Tian."

"This disciple was forced to stand with his face in the wall for 3 hours to appease the second elder's fury."

"Hmph." The elder thought to himself a moment. "For your trouble." He added, before tossing Yin Kai a small sack filled with Martial coins.

Yin Kai went back inside. 'How did they BOTH give me 201 martial coins exactly?!' He wondered, nearly aloud- before making his next move.
