He Jinxing came out of the old man's study and happened to meet Xia Zhi on the way back to his room. They exchanged a smile.
"Why are you looking so down?" Xia Zhi asked.
He Jinxing smiled faintly at her, "I'm not."
"I heard from Ruirui that Grandpa called you for a talk. Could it be that he reproached you?" Xia Zhi asked with concern.
He Jinxing said, "He didn't. He asked about how things were progressing with Miss Jiang. I told him we broke up. He didn't say much after that."
Xia Zhi said, "It's a pity that you and Miss Jiang broke up. But when it comes to feelings, whether it's suitable or not, only you can truly know."
"Did you just come back from Ruirui's room?" he asked, changing the subject.
"Yes, she said she was feeling bored and didn't want to move, so she asked me to go over and chat with her."
"Oh." He Jinxing responded softly, gazing at her tenderly, unwilling to look away.
