Chapter 14: Humiliating the Tricky Woman in Person

Although the volume was low, Amelia Garcia still heard it loud and clear.

She couldn't help but reflect, was she really as Christopher Hart said in the past? Very outdated?

She indeed didn't like to wear makeup or dress up, relying on her natural beauty, often bare-faced and dressed in a more quiet and gentle manner.

"Daddy, I'm talking to you... What's with you adults... Hmph! I'm going to be angry!" While everyone was lost in their thoughts, only Hope Hart persistently begged her father to approve a mom for her.

Lily Garcia was completely brought back to reality by the child's voice and a smile appeared on her face, her posture and demeanor all set up, "So you're the designer with the big ego, huh? Quite young."

Originally, Lily Garcia had immense respect and admiration for this mysterious Asian designer.

But when she found out this person resembled her deceased sister, Amelia Garcia, her attitude changed drastically, and she even lost interest in the woman's work.

—It was irritating.

"I did have something that delayed me last time, I'm sorry."

"Huh, looking at you, I bet your work isn't much."

Amelia Garcia responded with a good-natured smile, "If Mrs. Hart changes her mind, I have no objections; I mentioned returning thrice the deposit before, but you refused."

"You—" Lily Garcia was out of words, stumbling before saying, "Now we are the ones firing you! It's not you refusing this order!"

Amelia Garcia continued to smile calmly, then flicked her hair and stood up, "OK! Whatever, as long as you are happy!"

As she spoke, she tilted her head slightly and waved playfully and gently to the little girl in Christopher Hart's arms, "Sweetie, auntie is leaving now, you be good."

"Who do you think you are! My child doesn't need your meddling!" Lily Garcia followed her gesture, turned back to look at Hope Hart, and immediately felt jealous and burst out in anger.

"Mama, don't leave!" The next second, Hope Hart jumped down from her father's arms and quickly ran to hug Amelia Garcia, "Daddy! Say something! Mama is leaving again! I don't care, I want her to be my mama!"

Lily Garcia stared at Hope, her anger and jealousy swelling instantly!

This wretched little brat! She had carefully and earnestly sought her favor for years, yet had never managed to get a good response, but now she was calling a total stranger "mama" right away!

Where did that leave her dignity?

Even though she was furious enough to explode, in front of Christopher Hart, she dared not let out a peep and had to coax gently and patiently, "Baby, be good, she's not your mama, don't make a scene."

"Hmph! I say she is, and that's that! Mind your own business!" Hope Hart ran back and grabbed her father's big hand, swaying like a cute little penguin, "Daddy, you said you'd find mama, and now that we finally have, I don't care, I want mama to come home with me!"

Hearing this, Amelia Garcia was also terribly frightened.

She of course wanted to stay with her daughter, never leaving her side, but she had two sons at home—thus, she needed to find an excuse to leave quickly.

Seeing his daughter about to cry, Christopher Hart's heart softened, and he hugged her, cooing softly, "Daddy can agree, but this lady might not, okay?"

Lily Garcia's eyes flashed.

What did that mean?

With his fiancée present, he was openly searching for another mom for their child? Where did that place her?

"Christopher..." Lily Garcia's internal rage was about to burst again, but she still had to keep it under control, her face still wearing a good-natured smile, "Hope is young and doesn't understand, how could you... in front of others, aren't you afraid of being laughed at?"

Christopher Hart said in a calm and measured tone, "I was just making my child happy, who's laughing at that?"

Amelia Garcia stood by, her willow eyebrows trembling slightly.

It must be said, setting aside Christopher Hart's scoundrel behavior, as a father alone, he could be called an outstandingly good dad.

Thinking about how her daughter had been spoiled recklessly by him over the years, her heart finally felt a bit more at ease and she was thankful that her decision back then wasn't wrong.

"Mr. Hart, your daughter is very charming. It's just that my presence seems to have caused some misunderstandings. I better leave now." Fearing that if she didn't go now she might not be able to, Amelia Garcia left those words behind, reluctantly looked at the little girl pouting, and turned to leave.

As soon as she closed the door, she heard the child sob behind her, crying loudly.

Every expression fell from her face in an instant. She lowered her head and quickened her step, wanting only to think that if she couldn't hear her daughter's cries, her heart wouldn't hurt as much.

In the lounge, Lily Garcia watched the little girl crying in the man's arms, her face undisguised with disgust.

"Christopher, over the years I've really tried hard to please Hope. Even if she can't accept me, she shouldn't seek another mother, should she? I've sacrificed so much for Wendy, for you. Is this really how it ends...?"

As she spoke, Lily Garcia suddenly covered her mouth and burst into painful sobs, unable to speak.

"I was just a young girl, as lovely as a flower, I even donated a kidney, and now I have more health risks than others for the rest of my life. Who knows, I might just die from a minor illness... I've loved you for so many years, willingly sacrificed for your Hart family, not asking for much favor from you... at least, at least you shouldn't humiliate me like this..."

Christopher Hart was already overwhelmed trying to soothe his daughter, and now with this woman sobbing beside him, he became even more annoyed.

"I didn't say I wouldn't be responsible for you, but I've also said, it only extends to me. Hope doesn't have to like you, nor does she need to see you as a mother." The man didn't even look at her and settled back on the couch with his daughter, coldly dropping those words.

Lily Garcia thought her sobbing might at least get some comforting words from Christopher Hart. However, he didn't care at all!

Sorrow and anger flooded over her. She clenched her fist and shouted at the man, "Christopher Hart! You're too much!" Then she turned and slammed the door as she left.

---

Amelia Garcia had just left the music store and hadn't gone far when she suddenly heard someone calling her from behind.

As she turned around, it turned out to be Lily Garcia.

What did she want with her? Could it be, like Christopher Hart, she came to test her?

"Hello, do you need something?" She turned, her expression indifferent, not even bothering to smile.

Back then, if it weren't for the schemes of Lily Garcia and her mother, she wouldn't have been labeled a viper at heart, becoming the Hart family's sinner.

And this mother-daughter duo still occupied the home that rightfully belonged to her.

To such a level of Tricky Woman, she was repulsed even by sight.

Lily Garcia still had red eyes, yet she stood lofty in front of Amelia Garcia, scrutinizing her with a scornful look and mockingly said, "You artistic types, do you all favor this messy style?"

Lowering her head to inspect herself, Amelia Garcia couldn't help but chuckle, "How does my outfit bother you?"

"Of course, it's horrid and hurts my eyes," Lily Garcia retorted sharply.

Given Clarke Norton's identity, they were strangers. But for their first encounter to be so aggressive and rude was too much!

Amelia Garcia let out a cold laugh, and unapologetically retorted, "I think Mrs. Hart's breathing pollutes the entire air here, hmm..." She grimaced with a pitiable frown and waved her hand by her nose, "Such a disgusting smell, I need to go."
