Seeing that she was getting a bit angry, Jacob Brown suppressed his smile a bit.
"Sorry, it was inconsiderate of me, that was abrupt."
He normally always carried an air of jest and an irreverent attitude.
Now that he was apologizing so earnestly, Olivia Zane found it a bit discomfiting.
She organized her thoughts, "Director Brown, you're quite a good person, but the problem lies with whom you're pursuing. If you chase after someone else, you'll undoubtedly succeed right away."
Jacob Brown gazed at her steadily and let out a light chuckle.
"Olivia, you're a doctor; you must have been very good at science in high school," he said.
Olivia Zane didn't understand the point of his question.
"Yes, what about it?"
"The more challenging a subject is, the more excited you become, right?"
"Exactly, like the condition of a patient—the more complex the disease, the more it piques my interest."
Olivia Zane was confused, "But what are you trying to say?"
