Emily Jefferson's steps halted. "What do you mean by that?"
Jasper Brown glanced at her briefly before heading straight for the back garden.
Emily hesitated for a moment, then followed him.
Once in the back garden, Emily asked, "Alright, speak up. What exactly did you mean by what you just said?"
Jasper's thin lips parted slightly. "What I mean is, I can relinquish my position as the head of the Brown Corporation."
Hearing this, Emily's body stiffened, her gaze fixed on him.
The man's expression was calm, giving no hint that he might be joking.
But why would he give up the position of power in the corporation for no reason?
Emily's tone grew suspicious. "Are you really that generous?"
"No. I have conditions."
Of course, he had conditions.
Emily asked, "What are your conditions?"
Jasper looked at her. "Emily, I assume you're aware of Benjamin's actions as of late, aren't you?"
She was indeed aware.
