Chapter 255: Living Together, Dying Together

"Get out of here, there's no time!"

Clara shouted at him with red eyes. Edward Harper's hands trembled like a sieve on the knot tying her up; he couldn't spare a moment to hear what Clara was saying, his mind intensely focused.

But the rope was tied in a dead knot, one that couldn't be easily undone.

Sweat the size of beans trickled from Edward's forehead, landing on Clara's dress. She pleaded with a sob in her voice,

"Hurry up and leave, don't bother untying it, there's no time..."

Edward tried his best to stay calm, yet the rope in his hands still wouldn't come untied. He glanced back; just a few meters away from the car was the sea, and the car keys were still in the ignition.

He resolutely gave up on the difficult knot.

As he left, Clara felt a mix of emotions, thinking he was gone. Her heart wanted him to leave, but at the moment he let go, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness.
