In the ward.
Two people were standing by the bed, still quarreling:
"What reservations could they have? You're doing this to save your brother, it's only natural. Do you really want to watch your brother die?" an old lady said sharply and critically.
The woman standing next to her, frail and weak: "I know, but my husband can't accept it. I want to keep it from him for a while."
"He should be offering unconditional support! What right does he have not to accept this? Ever since your brother fell ill, he's only visited a few times, hasn't helped pay any medical bills. He's shown no concern at all. Since you married him, he should treat Chenchen as his own brother."
The woman uttered a sound of agreement, not daring to speak out fully.
Nan Xia frowned and walked in: "This is a hospital ward, please keep your voices down."
The old lady looked at Nan Xia with displeasure: "What right do you have to meddle in my affairs?"
A nurse whispered: "This is Doctor Matilda."
