Flynn Zimmerman had just left.
Soon after, Mrs. Lee, who was ironing Ellie Doyle's clothes in the laundry room, overheard a group of servants surrounding the servant who had been summoned for questioning by Hugo Hayes, bombarding her with all sorts of inquiries.
Everyone's gossiping instincts had been ignited.
"Penelope, what did Mr. Hayes ask you just now?"
"Yeah, yeah, Penelope, tell us! What did he say to you? This is the first time I've ever seen Mr. Hayes personally question someone at our level. Usually, he sends Flynn to relay his messages."
The "Flynn" they mentioned was Flynn Zimmerman.
The girl called Penelope looked bewildered and replied, "Mr. Hayes only asked me when Ms. Doyle had her period last month. That's it; he didn't ask anything else."
Hearing this, everyone showed clear disappointment.
"Oh, that's all? But why wouldn't Mr. Hayes just ask Ms. Doyle directly about this kind of thing?"
