Ellie Doyle choked on her daughter's words for a moment.
She coughed a few times, quickly concealing the trace of unease in her eyes.
Lowering her gaze, she replied to the questioning looks from the others: "No, it's nothing. Just tired from work, not in the mood to eat."
Ellie Doyle put down her bowl and chopsticks, stood up, and respectfully looked at Mrs. Hayes and Odessa Woods: "Granny, Mom, I've finished eating. I'm going upstairs to rest."
Hugo Hayes' eyes followed Ellie Doyle's back, and he stood up as well: "Granny, Mom, I've finished eating too."
With that, he immediately chased after Ellie Doyle.
At the dining table.
Odessa Woods exchanged a look with Mrs. Hayes, and her expression softened with concern: "Mom, I also feel Ellie has been too exhausted recently. Sigh, this child, working during the day is one thing, but coming home and still burying herself in the study to work overtime—if this keeps up, she might wear herself out."
Mrs. Hayes nodded in agreement.
