Meanwhile, in the northern region of Earth, a sinister green glow streaked across the sky before crashing down with an earth-shaking impact.
"Hahaha! I've arrived! Frieza… you'll pay for this!" Slug's voice rang out, filled with madness and anticipation.
BOOM!
The sheer force of his landing caused the ocean to split, sending massive tidal waves in every direction.
His massive, battle-worn figure sank into the depths. But the moment he plunged into the abyss, his expression changed.
"Damn those wretched Saiyans!" His voice carried a hint of frustration. But after a brief moment of contemplation, he quickly suppressed his Ki.
After a full month of travel, his energy reserves had dwindled to their lowest point. Those damned Saiyans weren't weak. If they sensed his presence now, his battered body could suffer even further damage. That was something he couldn't afford.
Especially now, the moment he set foot on Earth, he felt it—
The presence of the Dragon Balls.
That changed everything.
His original plan had been to assimilate his fellow Namekians on this planet to restore some of his power before making his way to Namek.
But with Dragon Balls here, his priorities shifted instantly.
Holding his breath, he concealed his energy completely.
—
Up in the sky, Raditz and his group came to an abrupt halt.
"The energy vanished?" Goku muttered, his brows furrowed.
The others exchanged glances, all wearing similar expressions of concern.
"Let's head to the Lookout!" Raditz made a quick decision, altering his course toward the sky.
If Slug had suppressed his Ki then tracking him down was nearly impossible. But letting him roam free was not an option either.
Once he recovered, the consequences would be disastrous. At this point, their only choice was to rely on Kami's abilities to locate him.
Following Raditz's lead, the others flew after him.
…
Meanwhile, deep beneath the ocean, Slug's aura was now completely concealed. Yet, within his eyes, an uncontrollable excitement burned.
"Demonic energy… this planet is saturated with it." Muttering to himself, his expression twisted into a sinister grin as he moved swiftly through the murky depths.
He was heading toward a particular location—
The seal of Demon God Piccolo.
—
Moments later, he arrived.
Staring at an ancient rice cooker, his expression darkened slightly.
"What is this?"
Though puzzled, he didn't hesitate. He raised a hand, gathering energy.
A moment later, he fired a blast directly at the vessel.
—
Up at the Lookout, Kami Piccolo was pacing back and forth, unease written across his face.
"A presence this powerful…"
"Could this be the threat Raditz warned of?"
Muttering to himself, his gaze never left the world below and then, his expression changed drastically.
"No!" His eyes widened in horror.
Something terrible was happening.
According to his observations, the being that had descended from space was now making its way toward the seal of Demon God Piccolo.
What made Kami Piccolo's expression shift even more was the unsettling familiarity of that figure— it bore an uncanny resemblance to himself.
No, not just similar. It looked exactly like the darkness he had once cast away, the evil part he had severed from his soul.
There was no doubt— this invader was another evil Namekian.
A shudder ran through Kami Piccolo at the mere thought of Demon God Piccolo's return. The devastation he had once wrought on Earth was still etched in history. If he were to be revived, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Fortunately, at that moment, a familiar energy signature soared toward him.
Raditz had arrived.
"Kami, it's great that you're here! Something terrible is happening."
"That powerful being you warned about has landed— and the place he chose is exactly where my dark half is sealed! If he's after that, then something truly disastrous is about to unfold."
As Raditz and the others touched down, Kami Piccolo wasted no time in explaining.
"Your evil half?" Raditz's brow furrowed, his sharp gaze locking onto the Guardian of Earth.
"Yes. When I became Kami, I purged myself of all evil I had in my being. That darkness took form and became the Demon King Piccolo. He ravaged the world until Earth's greatest warriors sealed him away. To ensure he would never return, I had Popo San place the seal deep beneath the sea."
"But now… that being is heading straight for him. His goal must be my evil half."
Raditz's expression darkened. "That's bad!"
His mind raced. He knew Namekians possessed the ability to assimilate, merging with one another to exponentially increase their strength. If Slug managed to fuse with Demon God Piccolo, his power would skyrocket. Perhaps even beyond what he had previously achieved.
Demon God Piccolo may not have been as powerful as Slug in raw strength, but he was of the Dragon Clan— a lineage gifted with immense potential. If they fused, the results could be catastrophic.
Before, they had struggled to handle Slug in his weakened state. If he emerged even stronger, their chances of victory would plummet.
"We're too late! He's already there!" Kami Piccolo's voice trembled. His heart pounded as a foreboding sensation coursed through him.
At that very instant—
BOOM!
A column of pitch-black light erupted into the sky from the distant horizon, swallowing the northern region of Earth in swirling darkness.
An overwhelming, malevolent aura spread like wildfire.
Then, laughter— deep, manic, and triumphant— echoed across the heavens.
"Hahahaha! I'm finally free!"
"Damn you, Kami!"
"Damn you, Master Mutaito!"
The voice dripped with venomous hatred, its echoes rippling through the sky. A wave of demonic energy pulsed outward as if the very fabric of the mortal realm had been tainted by an abyssal corruption.
Darkness churned violently, and from within its depths, unnatural forms began to emerge.
Demons.
It was as if the gates of the Demon Realm had been forced open, allowing creatures of nightmare to pour into the world.
Kami Piccolo staggered back, his face pale as death. His breath came in ragged gasps as he fought to steady himself. The fear in his heart was unlike anything he had felt in centuries.
Despite being separate entities, he and Demon God Piccolo remained bound by fate. The return of his dark counterpart filled him with an instinctual dread, one that clawed at the edges of his consciousness.
If not for the sacred bond maintaining their equilibrium, he might have perished on the spot.
As his hands trembled, Celipa and the others turned to Raditz, their eyes filled with urgency.
"We're probably too late," Raditz muttered grimly.
"Namekians can merge with one another. If Slug has already begun assimilating Demon God Piccolo, his power will soar beyond what we anticipated."
Kami Piccolo clenched his fists. "Then what do we do?"
Raditz hesitated for a moment, then looked toward the distant maelstrom of darkness. His expression hardened.
"Kami Piccolo, I need to use the Lookout."
Kami Piccolo blinked, caught off guard by the sudden request. He hesitated for only a second before nodding firmly. "Yes! Whatever you need."
Raditz turned to his comrades.
"Celipa, Toma, Toteppo, Panbukin, Kakarot— let's begin!"
The urgency in his voice snapped them into action. Without hesitation, they prepared themselves for the unknown challenge ahead.
