NIGHTMARE SYNDROME CHAPTER 10: THE MEDICAL WING 2
Date: FEB-14, 2002/12:59 AM HAVN Facility-Upper Level/Research Area: Observatory Level; The Medical Wing: Entrance After the Korean soldiers, finished their initial search and also collecting much needed medical supplies and rest for those needed. Hyun-woo called his men back, to regroup in the entrance, before all eleven of them can traverse the Medical Wing together. These remaining soldiers, have barely survived a encounter with a Hunter, as they were getting ready to move. Heavy and loud banging from the reinforced door, caught their attention, as they all turned towards the door with their guns drawn and aimed.
Lunara spoke through the comms, explaining that their fears were misplaced, and that door was reinforced to stand against something...stronger, and way more dangerous. Hyun-woo was shocked by what that woman said to them, as they've survived several monsters, strong monsters, and there was something worse in the facility. That scared him, he told his men to "stand down" and translated what the woman said to them...well with the omission of the final parts of the speech. With them now...calm...the team turned to their Commander, awaiting orders. Hyun-woo seeing them, he said his orders, "남자 여러분, 이 구역을 지나면 아래층으로 가는 엘리베이터가 있습니다. 이 여자는 거기서만 다른 엘리베이터를 찾을 수 있다고 말했습니다. 그러면 자유로워질 겁니다. 예리하게 경계하세요. 이곳이 안전한지 알 수 없습니다./Namja yeoleobun, i guyeog-eul jinamyeon alaecheung-eulo ganeun ellibeiteoga issseubnida. I yeojaneun geogiseoman daleun ellibeiteoleul chaj-eul su issdago malhaessseubnida. Geuleomyeon jayulowojil geobnida. Yelihage gyeong-gyehaseyo. Igos-i anjeonhanji al su eobs-seubnida. (Men, through this area, we'll find a access elevator to the lower level. This woman said, that only there can we find another elevator, that will lead to our freedom. Stay sharp, and alert we do not know if this place is secure.)" nodding to his words, Hyun-woo took point with two of men beside him. And the other were following closely behind, in a tight and slightly spread formation. As they finally started to traverse HAVN's Medical Wing.
After a few minutes of walking through the first area, they reached a white door, matching the same color of the whole Medical Wing. Hyun-woo took charge a reached for the doorknob, once he grabs hold, he took a brief moment to turn to his men, and giving them a quick sign to stay alert. They nodded in confirmation to their Commander, as he turned back to the door, turning the knob and opening the door. Immediately all of them, took aim and search for any threat, but only spotted a white, pristine, empty hallway with some glass wall allowing them to see into the empty, and ransacked offices. Hyun-woo and his team, noticed the clear blood stains and signs of struggle in those offices, there was even bloody handprints on the glass and various spots of these offices.
One of Hyun-woo Dae's team members, turned to him and shuke his head. A clear gesture of no signs of life, at that moment the woman spoke to them again, "The elevator is located in the deeper in this area. Go through the right hallway, and navigate through the Treatment Area-C. But be careful, a mutate varient in still in the Medical Wing." Just as Lunara said, Hyun-woo told his men where they have to go, as so they continue down the hallway, and turn to the right heading down the path. But they noticed broken glass, various holes on the wall and ceiling, as well as destroyed lights with some sparks spewing from the holes and light-sources.
As their boots stepped on and crush the glass shards on the floor. They turn on their flashlights to illuminate the dark hallway that they were walking through, ignoring all doors that they pass by. Their lights shun through the hallway, all the way to the end, another white door...only this one, wasn't pristine. It shows signs of damage, slashes, scratches, and splinters off the door, plus blood. Hyun-woo didn't like the look on door, but from what that woman told them, the path towards the exit was through that door, and whatever danger lurks within.
Hyun-woo, said to his men, "남자들은...위반을 합니다./Namjadeul-eun...wiban-eul habnida. (Men...breach.)" Nodding to their Commander, they started rush through towards the door.
Date: FEB-14, 2002/1:07 AM HAVN Facility-Upper Level/Research Area: Observatory Level; The Medical Wing: Treatment Area-C The team passed throught the entrance door to the Treatment Area-C. Like the entrance many bed, white curtains, medical equipment and other needed appliances for a medical treatment area. But just like the outside hallway, the treatment area was showing signs of great damage, and blood. One of Hyun-woo Dae's men, found a dead body laying on the glass and blood covered floor, next to tip-over bed. Seeing the damages on the body, from laceration to mutilation, the body of a doctor, judging from the bloody lab-coat, along with large stab wounds was clearly attacked by...something nonhuman. The doctor's body was almost unrecognizable, seeing this that soldier called Hyun-woo, to show him the body.
He along with the remaining team members, went towards where the body was located. They were shocked by the condition, aside from the reptilian horror they barely escaped from before, they have no idea on what could be able to do, this level of overkill. While Hyun-woo and his men, shun their lights on the dead body, he noticed his men were acting a bit panicked and unsteady, so he took charge of the situation. He said, "그만! 집중해, 만약 이게 또 그런 거라면. 그 전에 있던 것들이 지금쯤은 우리를 찾아서 공격했을 거야. 뭐였든. 아마 여기 있을 거고, 다들 준비해야 해. 알겠지!?/Geuman! Jibjunghae, man-yag ige tto geuleon geolamyeon... Geu jeon-e issdeon geosdeul-i jigeumjjeum-eun ulileul chaj-aseo gong-gyeoghaess-eul geoya. Mwoyeossdeun. Ama yeogi iss-eul geogo, dadeul junbihaeya hae. Algessji!? (Enough! Stay focus, if this was another of those... Those, things from before, it would have found and attacked us by now. Whatever did this. Is likely still here, and I need you all ready. Understood!?)" they'd calmed down, and obeyed their Commander's command. Hyun-woo started to get away from the body, with the last remaining soldier, shun his flashlight attachment on his assault-rifle onto the body, one last time. Saying in his native language, "젠장, 이게 뭐야? 악마일 수밖에 없어.../Jenjang, ige mwoya? Agmail subakk-e eobs-eo... (Damn, what could do this? Can only be a demon...)" and shaking his head, he started to follow the rest of his team.
Date: FEB-14, 2002/1:13 AM HAVN Facility-Upper Level/Research Area: Observatory Level; Dr. Lunara's Private Office Lunara was still typing away on her personal computer. Trying to finish the input of code sequences to establish the connection to lower levels, comm-system. She was dividing her attention, from finishing her task and guiding those soldiers through the Medical Wing, in her screen, another window screen, showing the live-feed from the treatment area. It was showing that the room was a completely mess, covered in blood and death.
She already knows what was hiding away in that area of the Medical Wing. Subject: 00128-A, calls them Scavengers, once they were set loose by these intruders, the scavengers rush off to hide from all the emergency lights. Which ended with those mutate varients, hiding away in the Medical Wing, and attacking the doctors and researchers of that sector in order to destroy the lights, for light is their weakness. These mutates are extremely sensitive towards light-sources, as light was able to burn them, hence them remain in the darkest corners of the facility.
Lunara turning her sight to the side of the computer screen, and watched as the soldiers make there way further into the treatment facility. Soon they'll reach the lab section of that area, they're making good progress in their search for the elevator. But that also meant, that their getting closer to danger, as the Scavengers were a couple rooms away from the lab. She decided to provide them with a bit of information, in hope that their smart and skilled enough to survive the next challenge that is ahead of them. Lunara, she got closer to the microphone on her desk, and pressing the button to activate the comms, she started to speak...
Date: FEB-14, 2002/1:22 AM HAVN Facility-Upper Level/Research Area: Observatory Level; The Medical Wing: Treatment Area-C/Laboratory Hyun-woo and his team entered another area in the treatment area, unlike the other area it was lite up fully, and clean. No signs of struggle or blood, just a pristine white, and sterile lab, with some artificial plants, and grayish-white furniture. As they entered the main area, with three paths, one to the right, one to the left, and the last path leading straight. Hyun-woo looked around a bit, before ordered some of his men to split-up, and investigate the area. Four men to the right, four to the left, and he'll personally take two men with him to search in the middle hallway. Answering to him, "로저, 사령관님!/lojeo, salyeong-gwannim! (Roger, Commander!)" as they'd split-up.
After a couple of minutes, finding no survivors or hostile threats, Hyun-woo was about to use his radio to call back his men, when one of his men accompanying him, called to him, "사령관님! 와서 이것들을 보세요./Salyeong-gwannim! Waseo igeosdeul-eul boseyo. (Commander! Come look at these.)" Hyun-woo, turn to the side and saw that one of his men, was calling him from inside of the rooms. Curious on what his soldier has found, he turn to the other soldier he brought with him, and order him, "군인아, 계속 경계하라./Gun-in-a, gyesog gyeong-gyehala. (Soldier, stay on watch.)" He saluted and stand next to the open door, as Hyun-woo Dae, entered the room to check what he was called for.
Date: FEB-14, 2002/1:28 AM HAVN Facility-Upper Level/Research Area: Observatory Level; The Medical Wing: Treatment Area-C/Laboratory-Private Office Hyun-woo entered what seems to be a private office of some worker of the HAVN Facility. He saw one of his men, standing over a some table filled with scattered files, and folders. That's when the soldier, standing next to the table, turned to Hyun-woo and said, "사령관님. 이 파일을 찾았는데, 임무에 유용할 것 같습니다. 당신이 확인하는 게 최선이라고 생각했습니다./Salyeong-gwannim. I pail-eul chaj-assneunde, immue yuyonghal geos gatseubnida. Dangsin-i hwag-inhaneun ge choeseon-ilago saeng-gaghaessseubnida. (Commander. I found these files, I think that they might prove useful for the mission. I thought it be best for you to check them.)" Hyun-woo he nodded to his subordinate, and walked towards the table. Taking the first folder from the hand of the soldier, he opened the folder and started reading the files.
Hyun-woo read about some of the experiments both concocted and schedule to be done in this facility. The use of people from the undesirable of society, to test these creatures that Barrow has created. While he didn't found much information on these creatures, which aggravated him, as he hoped that he could find any more weaknesses or useful data on them to survive any other encounter, that he and his team might come across.
Closing the folder, he started to check the other files on the table, finding some useful or barely useful information involving the NEMESIS Project. He turned to his subordinate, and complimenting him a good call, and telling him to leave the office first, as he wanted to do a final sweep, before leaving. The soldier nodded to Hyun-woo, and left the room, leaving Hyun-woo alone. He started to check the rest of the files, a quick look-over, before putting them away in his backpack.
Hyun-woo look in all the other spots of the office, and in a small file-cabinet he found other file, only seeing that these are just some personal files of the employees. Just when he was about to call it quits, he noticed that in the back of the cabinet were a few more file, and he took them out, and they were about some...women. He checked over the files of Cynthia Costello-Graves, Cinis Tramontovatore, Michelle Dumarias, Karin Nightingale, Cassandra Exsanguine, Barbi Krystal, Rachel Trummen, and Runi Doe. While he briefly viewed those files, he smacked the cabinet and found that there were another file hidden, that fell out. Like before it was about some women whose names are Nina Douma, Jullia Anderson, Rohanna Blaike, Jane Mary McCarron, Tina Runner, Dahlia Eris Locke, Lenore Hankerson, Marizabell Rodriguez, Jessie Joe [Roxy Bonnie], and Alice Hansen. Seeing that these files might be important, for these women weren't marked as "subjects" or deceased Hyun-woo, took them as well. Having search the whole of the room, he decided it was time to leave, taking these files with him.
Date: FEB-14, 2002/1:31 AM HAVN Facility-Upper Level/Research Area: Observatory Level; The Medical Wing: Treatment Area-C/Laboratory As Hyun-woo left the office, and his two teammates stopped standing on guard, and stand beside him. Just when Hyun-woo was about to once again to contact his team, and call them back to his location, when that woman, contacted them on the comms again. She talked in her usual calm tone, which honestly concerned Hyun-woo, as he thought, "What kind of person can remain soo calm, in a situation like this?" as she spoke, "Good. You all are well I hope? I need to warn you all, a mutate varient has made their...nest...in the area, you all are currently in. I'd advice you all to be careful, and use a little illumination, as possible. I'll contact you all once I finish some things that require my attention... Good luck, gentlemen..."
That woman truly concern Hyun-woo, if not for their current situation, he'd would have never listen to her. But he has no choice but to hear and accept her help. Sighing, he reached for his radio and contacted his team, translating what she said to them, and ordering them all to redenvue with him. They all responded that they'll rush to his location, so for now he and his two accompanying subordinates, waited for the rest of the team...
