"WE HAVE TO STUDY SERIOUSLY!? IMPOSSIBLE!" Tanaka shouted as he ran toward the exit.
"WE CAN'T DO THIS!" Nishinoya yelled, running alongside Tanaka.
"DON'T BE COWARDS NOW! Ennoshita, catch them!" Daichi shouted.
"Got it!" Ennoshita said, running after the two.
"Kageyama, cheer up! We can figure this out! We just need to focus completely on studying…" Hinata said, trying to console Kageyama, who had been sitting motionless on the floor for a few seconds.
"Hinata, you're good at studying, right? I'm sure you'll be able to help them," Sugawara said hopefully.
"Well, I think if they really put in the effort, we can make it work!" Hinata said, smiling and trying to stay positive.
"Here they are!" Ennoshita said, bringing Tanaka and Nishinoya back, holding them by their collars, one in each hand.
"Let's see, what's the highest score you've ever gotten on a test out of 100 points?" Sugawara asked.
"Hmm… let me think… I think a little over 40 points!" Kageyama said, clenching his fists, seeming proud of that result.
"Amazing, Kageyama!… You managed to hit the 40s!" Nishinoya said, impressed.
"These guys have never even managed to get an average score!" Tsukishima said, laughing.
"Eh… what do you think, Hinata?" Sugawara asked, now sounding worried.
"It might be the end," Hinata said, clearly shocked by what he had just heard.
"NO! DON'T GIVE UP BEFORE EVEN TRYING! WE NEED THEM IN TOKYO!" Daichi shouted.
"IT'S OVER, WE WON'T BE ABLE TO GO TO TOKYO!" Tanaka yelled.
"IT'S DONE, WE'RE GOING TO BE STUCK IN SUMMER SCHOOL!" Nishinoya shouted, making the situation even more chaotic.
"Great, now it's a complete mess!" Tsukishima said, laughing even harder.
"Shut up! We can't throw ourselves into such a high-level training camp without the three of them, so… we have to make this work…" Daichi said in a dark tone.
"Alright, I'll try to help with everything I've got!" Hinata said, perking up.
"And so begins Operation Save the Dumbasses!" Tsukishima mocked.
"Alright! Listen up, you idiots! You're going to have to promise a few things!" Daichi said as the three lined up in front of him.
"No sleeping in class!" Daichi said.
"Stay up late studying with pure willpower!" Daichi said.
"Yes!" the three said in unison, but in a tone that wasn't very motivated, sounding lifeless.
"It'll be fine. After all, you passed the school entrance exam, and now you have Hinata to teach you!" Sugawara said.
"Suga-san! Don't say it like I'm some kind of world savior. I've never tried teaching anyone before!" Hinata complained.
"Do you really think we can do this, Suga-san?" Tanaka asked.
"Well, if you can manage not to sleep in class, that's already progress!" Sugawara said as he walked away.
After a while, all the Karasuno players left the gym and started heading home.
"Kageyama, I said I'd try to teach you, but like I said, I've never done anything like this before. So maybe it'd be good to try different approaches…" Hinata said thoughtfully.
"What do you mean?" Kageyama asked.
"I'm saying we should get Tsukishima to join us in studying," Hinata said.
"NO WAY! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, SUGGESTING SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" Kageyama shouted, irritated.
"Listen, he's as good as I am at studying, and we'll probably have different approaches to the subjects. Different perspectives always help with learning," Hinata said, trying to sound logical.
"You might be right, but it's still Tsukishima," Kageyama said, annoyed.
"You have to do this for volleyball and for Tokyo!" Hinata said, trying to motivate him.
"FINE!" Kageyama shouted.
"HEHE, I know how to hit the weak spots…" Hinata thought as the two walked toward Tsukishima and Yamaguchi.
"Tsukishima, Yamaguchi!" Hinata called out as he approached.
"What do you want?" Tsukishima asked.
"So, I was planning to teach Kageyama, but I thought it'd be good if you helped too, to have a variety of teaching methods and perspectives," Hinata said.
"Well, I could teach, but it's not you who needs my help. I need the magic word from this guy next to you…" Tsukishima said provocatively, pointing at Kageyama.
"P-please!" Kageyama stammered at first but managed to get it out.
"I didn't hear that, say it again!" Tsukishima demanded.
"PLEASE!" Kageyama shouted this time.
"YOU IDIOTS! STOP SHOUTING IN FRONT OF MY STORE!" Ukai yelled, suddenly appearing from inside the store, opening the door and shooing the group away.
The next day, the Karasuno players could be seen in the clubroom with papers, backpacks, and pencil cases as they studied.
"So, Kageyama, what's the correct answer to complete the sentence: She is a ----?" Tsukishima asked.
"The answer is A, girl beautiful," Kageyama answered confidently.
"No! It's wrong. The answer is B, beautiful girl… How are you this bad at English?" Tsukishima said, frustrated.
"Kageyama, in English, adjectives come before nouns," Hinata explained.
"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT!? JAPANESE PEOPLE DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH!" Kageyama complained.
"Then give up on going to Tokyo!" Tsukishima said authoritatively.
"Just memorize it! If you were able to memorize all our volleyball signals, English vocabulary shouldn't be a problem!" Hinata said.
"He's right! After all, you want to go to Tokyo, don't you… Tokyo… Tokyo… Tokyo…" Daichi said slowly, trying to hypnotize Kageyama.
"I want to! Show me more questions!" Kageyama said, motivated.
"That's the spirit!" Hinata said, handing Kageyama another worksheet while picking up his video game and starting to play as he waited.
"Hmm…" Kageyama thought as he tried to solve the problem but was distracted, looking at Hinata playing.
"Hey, Hinata! Put that thing away! This is a study environment, and you're distracting him!" Daichi said authoritatively.
"Darn it! You sounded just like the teachers when they catch me playing!" Hinata complained, putting his video game away reluctantly.
