That evening, I was still at the hospital with my mother.

I received a call from my best friend:

"Emily, don't let your mom watch TV or use her phone."

"Dashiell's mother has contacted the media, trying to twist the facts and ask for help."

She then sent me a link.

Looking at my sleeping mother, I secretly turned off her phone and hid it along with the remote control.

I snuck into the bathroom, opened the link, and couldn't help but laugh bitterly at what I saw.

"After marrying a rich wife, the college-educated son I worked so hard to raise became someone else's."

"The wife won't even let me visit my son's house."

"Every time my son comes home after making money, his wife is out having fun and makes him do housework."

"My daughter-in-law can't have children, but we don't mind. We'd be happy to adopt a child."

"Who would have thought the wife would claim the adopted child is my son's love child, accusing him of cheating."
