Two years passed by in the blink of an eye.
Kenji had just arrived back in the house in which master Fubara had bought for him. And he couldn't lie, it was very luxurious.
In the two years span, Kenji had amassed up to a fortune, and had gone to a few different town to make exquisite meals for different nobles of different families in different towns.
He had amassed quite a nice level of fame for himself throughout these years and had increased his rank level by one.
[ A/N: sorry for the rank confusion and stuff. Classes have ranks like: F, D, C, B, A... And each of this rank have six levels; 1-3 is called the normal level, 4-5 is called the advanced level, and 6 is called the impossible level due to there only being a handful of people who can increase their levels. To increase your level isn't impossible, it just takes a high astronomical amount of resources and the environment you are in.]
They were right, it did take an astronomical amount of resources to increase your rank. Almost all of his money that he had gotten from the king had depleted the moment he spent money to buy the resources. Leaving him with nothing more than twelve gold coins.
But thanks to Kenji's food and master Fubara's help, he had gained quite a lot more money lately and wasn't too pained by the loss of so much gold coin.
But it was worth it; because now, Kenji can tame up to two animals at once which was a very big shocker to everyone who saw it, as normally an animal tamer needed to be C rank and higher to tame more than one animal.
But Kneji was able to increase his prowess with just one little rank level increase! That was totally unheard off!
In time, Kenji began to use his ability to tame little animals that needed to be used as meat in the kitchen, or just for regular kitchen assistance.
In time, Kenji became a true master chef. As he learnt from master Fubara and taught master Fubara at the same time.
The two realized that they were both the teachers and the students, and would occasionally joke about it.
Turns out that the meals that Kenji would prepare would always have a great taste, and a few have increased their rank thanks to him, causing him to be revered in the town.
Kenji had also kept in touch with Raphael through the help of the transmit crystal. Kenji realized that they were just like the phones in his world except they couldn't take pictures, and there was no Facebook and Snapchat.
All he could use it to do was call a person by recognising thier Mana DNA and linking it with his own transmit crystal; enabling them to talk to each other. And the best part; there was no network problems!
About a few months ago, Kenji even heard some news of his old co-workers going on mysterious adventures and vanquishing demons, as they slowly paved a path for humanity's conquest over the demon king and his army.
But truly, Kenji didn't care, he no longer cared about them as they are now in the past to him. And the past would always be the past.
Kenji slowly began to integrate himself with this world and realized that this was the place he was meant to be. His former world was too cruel and hateful towards him.
But this world...this world was perfect.
He had slowly began to fall in love with this world and it's people. For the love, even if most of it is for his cooking, it had helped him push through a few tough times in those two years.
The people of this world actually weren't bad, it was just that he was unlucky to find bad people the moment he came.
Oh! And the nobles of this world are actually very kind. They were nothing like those in the stories he had read, and they were even more better than the government in his world.
Everything was working out great. Until a crazy idea popped in his head.
" What?! You want to become an adventurer?!!" Master Fubara said with his mouth open wide, hoping to himself that he had heard worng.
But when he saw Kenji nodding to him, confirming his words, it seemed as if his world had just collapsed.
He immediately fell to the ground, but was luckily caught by one of the kitchen staff.
" Master please tell me. What did I do wrong? What have I done to make you want to leave? Please if I have done anything let us resolve it with our words and not like this, I can't lose you master. Things are just starting to get great, I can't lose you know!" Master Fubara soad, distress written all over his face.
Keni shook his head slightly," Fubara, you have done nothing wrong, so don't fell alarmed," Kenji said with a calm exppression.
" If I have done nothing wrong, then why are you thinking of leaving me and this great life for a life filled with danger?" Master Fubara said, clearly concrened about Kenji's safety.
" Fubara, first of all; I am not leaving you. I promise to visit as often as I can. Second of all; the life of an adventurer may seem dangerous but it depends on what quest they take on. I promise to take on the quest that don't need too much strength, something of my level; like picking up herbs and stuff," Kenji said trying his best to calm his racing heart.
He had lived his childhood dream of becoming a renowned chef. But he felt like that wasn't all that there is to his life. He needed to see more of the world, he needed to meet more people and make more bonds.
And he knew he couldn't do that here, at least not in this town. Everyone already liked him!
Eventually, Kenji was able to convince master Fubara to let him go, but not after a big hug and giving him some safety armour and extra money, even if Kenii already had a lot.
" Goodbye friends. I promise, we shall meet again in the future," Kenji said, placing his bags on his back as he waved master Fubara and a few of the other town folks good bye, allowing the ray of the evening sun to highlight the heart felt moment.
Kenji walked straight into the horizon, optimistic on where his life was headed. With nothing more than a smile and some money, Kenji opened a new chapter in his life.
