Chapter 23: Where is Yu Lan?

'How are you?' Seeing that Yu Lan seemed to have returned to his usual self, Mo Wen hurriedly looked up and asked, his gentle voice vaguely mixed with suppressed grumpiness.

'Well.' Yu Lan inclined her head, and then smilingly gave Mo Wen a kiss on the cheek, indicating that she was fine with her actions.

  Mo Wen was finally relieved.

But since then, Yu Lan added another habit, that is, no matter what Mo Wen was eating, she would go and grab a bite.

Of course Mo Wen would not give her the chance to have her food in her mouth.

Exasperatedly watching Mo Wen put away the food at the speed of light, Yu Lan plopped down on the sofa with a frustrated face, wailing and ghosting, just not letting Mo Wen stop.

'Blue blue ...' Mo Wen was helpless and rubbed his brow, squatting down to coax her, 'You'll be uncomfortable if you eat my food, have you forgotten the lesson from last time?'

'Ow.' Yu Lan glared at Mo Wen, clearly having long forgotten whatever the hell lesson she learnt last time.

'... 'Seeing Yu Lan glaring at him fiercely, Mo Wen had a headache, but he could still only coax patiently.

In the end, he stuffed Yu Lan a bunch of large and small crystal cores for her to throw around before Yu Lan finally stopped grabbing his food.

Putting on his combat uniform and walking towards the door, Mo Wen was relieved to see that Yu Lan's attention was still on the crystal cores in front of him.

In the past two days when he went out Yu Lan always had to follow, but he did not want Yu Lan to be present when he slaughtered the zombies, one was the danger, and the other was that he did not want Yu Lan to see him covered in dirt.

The muffled sound of a door closing came, Yu Lan raised his eyes and looked at the closed door. Dropping the crystal core in her hand, she climbed up and flung herself at the door, her lost appearance like a child abandoned by his family.

  'Oooh ...'

While Mo Wen had already walked onto the empty street, his footsteps suddenly lurched, and his entire body was instantly on alert.

Yesterday, he didn't go out to collect the crystal cores because he was worried about Yu Lan's body, and now this place seemed to have become a little heavy even with the air.

There wasn't a single zombie to be seen in his vicinity either.

This is certainly not because he hunted the zombies clean, but there is something that made all these first and second level zombies near him disappear, or ... be eaten.

The only one who could do this was the third level zombie that suddenly appeared in the third district.

Thinking of this Mo Wen's face instantly lost any expression, he habitually smiled gently, a dodged into the shadows between the high-rise buildings, quickly hiding his breath.

Now with his strength of twelfth rank to encounter the third level zombie is still a bit hanging.

Although in the case of the same level, the alien is much stronger than the zombie, but the higher the level of the zombie, the more difficult to estimate the strength, after all, no one can predict in what direction they are mutating.

Not to mention that this was a level 3 zombie, with abilities one level higher than his.

Just as Mo Wen was pondering a black shadow flashed from the sunny ground outside, and the next moment a dull sound was heard.

The zombie landed on the ground.

With Mo Wen's angle he could just see this zombie's huge hind legs, he held his breath and his complexion was icy for a moment.

This Level 3 zombie had like six legs, and its last two legs looked the most developed and powerful. It didn't have a tail, but the skin that was covered in black dots forced people to be vigilant.

The level 3 zombie seemed to have sensed someone nearby, but it was slow to move because it was unable to determine its exact location.

Mo Wen lowered his eyes and gently took out his dagger, always ready to launch an attack.

Because this zombie's level was higher than his, he couldn't accurately find out exactly how many ranks it was now.

If it was below the third level and fifteenth rank he would still be able to retreat in one piece, but if it was above the fifteenth rank, he really couldn't say anymore.

The level three zombie crawled on the ground in a small circle twice before letting out a low roar and seemingly leaving, but Mo Wen had no intention of going out.

Although there was no longer the figure of the third level zombie in the field of vision, and it had been very careful to hide its scent, but Mo Wen was still keenly aware of the sound of breathing that could be slowed down when it was crouching down to guard its prey.

It looked like this level 3 zombie already possessed some simple intelligence.

I don't know how long that zombie finally left, Mo Wen wrinkled his eyebrows, but in his heart, he didn't have the idea of continuing to hunt zombies, he now only wanted to rush to Yu Lan's side.

Last time that twelfth-order zombie attacked Yu Lan, Mo Wen didn't know if this zombie would be equally interested in Yu Lan.

In his heart, he only made an assumption that something would happen to Yu Lan, and Mo Wen only felt an uncontrollable sense of tyranny surging up.

Flying out, he rushed to the downstairs of the building where he lived as fast as he could, and was relieved to see that the surroundings were still calm.

Looking at the house he lived in from downstairs, Mo Wen went straight to the twentieth floor, then stood in the doorway looking at the open door and froze.

Why would the door be open?

Chest tight instantly was smothered with a breath, Mo Wen flashed into the room indeed did not find Yu Lan's figure.

'Lan Lan?' He called out helplessly, only to feel a chill penetrate from his head to the soles of his feet.

  There was no echo.

His dark eyes were instantly coloured with blood, he went back and forth, ruthlessly rummaging around the room, but he still didn't see Yu Lan.

Yu Lan where did she go?

It was so hard to get Yu Lan and now he lost her?

A bewildered colour flashed across Mo Wen's face, he breathed heavily and ordered himself to calm down, but his hands were trembling completely uncontrollably.

Can not ... Yu Lan absolutely can not leave him again.

Clenching his fists tightly, he tried his best to keep himself sane.

The stench inside the building was at a level that Yu Lan absolutely could not endure, she should not have run down the stairs.

The windows of the room were all closed as well, it was also impossible for her to have fallen down the stairs.

Thinking of this Mo Wen's thoughts instantly opened up, he narrowed his eyes and ran to the door of a house at the end of the corridor, pulled down the door and really did not pull.

If he remembered correctly this door had always been open before, it was only because the inside of this house was too simple that he did not choose to live here.

Ice cold slightly drooping his eyelids, Mo Wen kicked the door.

A burst of ear-piercing echoes immediately came out from the corridor, and the burglar-proof iron door was directly kicked out of a hole.

Mo Wen violently tore open that door with force directly from the hole, ignoring the dust that pounded on his face as soon as he entered, he stared at Yu Lan, who was lying on the sofa and staring at him with his eyes wide open, his face twisted for a while.

Icy cold, killing, tyranny, despair, all the negative emotions surged up in this instant, just short of a tipping point to explode.

He did not make a sound, nor did he call out Yu Lan's name as tenderly as before.

He just stood in the doorway and watched as Yu Lan happily rolled off the sofa, and then even pounced and crawled into his arms with a cry of 'ow', as if he thought this game of 'hide and seek' was very amusing.

Mo Wen also just watched, he is not unable to move, but do not dare to move.

He was afraid that if he moved, he would wring Yu Lan's neck.
