CHAPTER 33 Embarrassment

  Tristan POV

I don't know how long I sat at the edge of our territory, staring in the direction that both my mate and Mason disappeared into. I know I cannot return to the pack house until my emotions are in check.

Embarrassed. That is how I feel right now. I knew my mate smelled me. There is no way she didn't put two and two together that I am her mate, and she ran from me. I cannot imagine a rejection could feel any worse than this. My mate would rather live as a rogue and be with Mason than even meet me.

Titan is howling painfully in my head, only making matters worse. He wants me to go after her.

'She ran from us,' I remind Titan. 'She doesn't want us. Maybe our reputation has preceded us.'

'Mason deserves to die for stealing our mate from us,' Titan growls.

'Mason doesn't know she is our mate,' I try to reason with my wolf. 'Killing him would only drive her further away.'

Titan lets out a humph of disagreement and curls up in my mind, continuing to growl.
