"I will not reject him," I tell Luca. "This is not up for negotiation."

　　I listen carefully to what Zoe has to say. She calmly fills in all the blanks of my missing memories. Tears fill my eyes as I hear about how my brother killed my first mate out of anger because he had already promised me to Alpha Tristan. Zoe explains how she helped me to escape from the pack before Alpha Tristan could come and claim me.


　　The parts of the story that Zoe couldn't fill in, Mason does. He tells me how he found me on the banks of the river just inside North Twilight Pack territory. He doesn't gloss over the fact that he and I had been intimate many times in the past.


　　My face heats with embarrassment as I hear about my sex life with Mason. I find it hard to believe I slept with him the first night I met him. I glance at Tristan, and he is grinding his teeth in anger as Mason continues in great detail.


　　Finally, I have heard enough. I raise my hands to stop Mason from speaking. "I have heard enough," I whisper.
