CHAPTER 69 Cold Shoulder

  Rowena POV

I am left stunned as I stare at the two holes in the wall Tristan left. He is so quick to lose his temper it is alarming.

Mason stands close to my bed. He is tense and ready to attack the next person that walks through my hospital door.

The doctor ducks his head in the room, and Mason growls at him. I calmly place my hand on Mason's arm, trying to calm his rage.

The doctor comes in with his hands raised and does not take his eyes off Mason. "I am here to discharge the Luna," he says with a quiver in his voice. "Where is the Alpha?"

Clearing my throat awkwardly, I get the doctor's attention. "I don't think he will be coming back for me," I say, trying not to let the sadness seep into my voice. "But the Beta can see that I make it home safely."

The doctor looks Mason up and down. It seems like he wants to argue, but he keeps his mouth shut. He hands me a stack of discharge papers before he hurries from the room.
