Rowena POV
I flip through the channels on the hospital television. Only about half the channels work. The others are nothing but static. I wish I had a book or something to pass the time until I am released from the hospital. The doctor assured me that it would be today, but no one has been in to see me.
I throw my head back and sigh in boredom. I wish anyone would walk through that door to entertain me.
As if on cue, there is a knock on my door. My eyes dart to the doorway, and Maon is leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. His face is unreadable. There is a mix of disappointment and concern in his eyes.
Mason doesn't step into the room. He is careful to keep his distance from me. I wonder if it is because he is scared of Tristan.
"Would you like to come in?" I invite him.
Mason nods silently as he inches his way toward me. I hold out my hand and gesture for him to sit on the bed with me, but he remains standing just out of my reach.
