CHAPTER 35 Powers

  Ally's POV

Pain pulses under my skin, a reminder of the chaos we fled. I focus on the way the earth feels beneath my boots, uneven and real, as Elliot leads me through the dense thicket to a place only whispered about in stories.

"Watch your step," Elliot's voice is hushed but firm, his hand gripping mine. We break into a clearing, moonlight spilling onto what looks like an abandoned cabin, its walls cloaked in ivy. This must be our secret refuge.

Inside, shadows cling to the corners, and the air is cool against my heated skin. Elliot's gaze sweeps over me, concern etched in the lines of his face. He is the King's twin, but where Nathan is fire, Elliot is calm waters. His touch is gentle as he examines the gash on my forearm, his fingers sending shivers up my spine despite the sting.

"Sorry," he murmurs, and I sense the Wolf within him, Dawn, stirring, her presence a soothing whisper. "I need to clean this before it gets infected."
