CHAPTER 36 Origins

  Ally's POV

  "Always," he replies, and in his eyes, I see the unyielding strength of mountains, the steadfast resolve of the earth itself. With him, perhaps I can weather the coming storm.

  "Then let's begin," I say, determination surging through me like a river breaking free from ice. Whatever my fate, I am no longer a mere pawn. I am Dawn, and with each heartbeat, I feel her power thrumming in my veins, a song of wild freedom waiting to be unleashed.

  I run my fingers over the frayed edges of the ancient map spread across the heavy oak table, its parchment tinged with old blood. Elliot's hand covers mine, stilling the nervous flutter of my heart.

  "Ally," he whispers close to my ear, his breath fanning my cheek. "We will uncover your past, no matter what secrets it holds."
