"For a while, I thought you would never want to have anything to do with me" Everly said in a weak tone, her voice breaking into the stillness of the night.
It was well past midnight, Alex had retired for the day. He said he wanted to spend the night in Ethan's apartment for some unknown reasons because Devan and Everly did not bother questioning him.
Leaving behind the both of them, they sat in the mini garden at the extreme end of the compound, Devan had earlier asked Everly to stay behind when she spoke about going home when Alex had gone.
"Don't you think it is because of the common goal we all have that is making us stick together?" Devan questioned.
"True, that is another perspective to view things from, but the common goal we have together is not enough for you to tell me to stay back at your place, don't you also think so?"
Giving out a quiet chuckle, "Don't try using my words against me" Devan answered and Everly laughed.
