Hazel squeezed the edge of her dress until her fingertips turned white. But upon hearing Christo's question, she immediately shook her head slowly. "I... Hhhh... well, I guess I'm okay for now. But, actually, I'm regretting some things," she said, sounding melancholic.
Christo blinked and tried to force a smile. He didn't know what was going on in his employer's mind, but it seemed to have something to do with love.
"Is this about your relationship with Mr. Bezos? I'm sorry if I'm being intrusive," Christo asked cautiously. He didn't want to offend the young lady. However, Hazel shook her head again.
"It has nothing to do with Mr. Bezos," she said, licking her lips. Half true, half not. Flashes of thoughts about two men crossed Hazel's mind. She clearly regretted Alfred's affair and also regretted Flynn's suspicious behaviour towards her.
Hazel was in a world that seemed to reject her in finding a true love.
