CHAPTER 49 Hazel's Curiosity

Hazel was devastated. She couldn't believe she and Flynn were fighting again. More like a cold war, actually. They had just made up, so why was this happening again?

"Good morning, Miss," Esme greeted her, bringing breakfast. Hazel had snuck back to her room while all the servants were still busy in the kitchen and elsewhere.

"G-good morning, Esme," Hazel replied awkwardly, biting her lip as guilt tugged at her heart. She had been keeping her relationship with Flynn a secret from her new friend.

For some reason, it made her feel guilty.

  "What's for breakfast?"

"Biscuits and gravy. A light meal to start, then the rest later," Esme said with a mischievous smile. Hazel finally laughed. "A gloomy face in the morning is no good, Miss," Esme added, setting the plates on the table.
