Autumn
I ushered Mary towards Kiev's car, a sleek black sedan gleaming under the streetlights. Her eyes widened with fear as I gently guided her into the back seat. She hesitated, her breath catching in her throat at the sight of Kiev sitting calmly in the driver's seat.
I slid into the front passenger seat, casting a glance at Mary to ensure she wouldn't attempt to escape. Kiev's voice cut through the tense silence, a warning tinged with concern, "She might still shift out of anger."
I shrugged nonchalantly, my focus unwavering as I prepared a sedative injection for Mary. With practiced precision, I administered it to her neck, watching as her eyes widened briefly in alarm before fluttering shut, her body slumping against the seat as unconsciousness claimed her.
