Emily's POV
I was busy with my composition studies at school the next day. The day had started off on a bad note for me because of what I had the previous day. I was still shocked that Berton's mother had gone that far to make her distaste for me very visible.
The fact that she had called the members of the council right after she had walked in on them was just terrifying. And if care wasn't taken, angering the woman could be very fatal. She could even kill me if care wasn't taken. I just had to make sure that I stayed out of the way the whole time I was in the Packhouse.
I'd managed to push the thoughts of Berton's mother and the things she was doing but somehow the thoughts kept coming back to me and it wasn't long before I found herself straying from what I was supposed to do. It was a very frustrating feeling but there was nothing I could do.
