CHAPTER 61 ALEX'S INTERVENTION

  NINA'S POV

As I walked to the restaurant in the late afternoon, the sun shone through the trees. I took my time, not wanting to rush. It felt weird meeting Leo here after all these months, but I'd agreed to come to get things straight. The path looked the same, with the same tables and flowers where we used to talk for hours. We'd shared our hopes and dreams, feeling like anything was possible when we were young.

But everything changed when I realized the love I once cherished was just an illusion. Leo was always distant, his attention always slipping away. I loved him with all my heart, but he only gave me half-hearted smiles and distracted affection. It took years to break free from the emotional web he'd spun around me. Now that I'm finally free, he suddenly wants me back.

The irony of it all was almost laughable.
