ALEXANDER'S POV
The office buzzed with conversation, but it felt muted, like a distant echo. I tried to focus on my work, telling myself I was concentrating. Emails, contracts, and meetings filled my schedule, yet my mind kept drifting back to one person: Nina, the only one who could upend my life.
I vowed to give her space, to let her live her life. But at night, when everything was still, memories of her laughter, touch, and scent flooded back. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake them off. I sat up straight, forcing myself to concentrate. This company was my pride, my accomplishment. I built it from scratch; it was my purpose for years. But now, my passion has faded. Nothing seemed to matter compared to her.
