CHAPTER 81 THE WEIGHT OF CERTAINTY

  NINA'S POV

I sat in my room, gazing at the blank wall, surrounded by silence. My conversation with Leo yesterday had been a total waste of time. Nothing. No hints, no slips, nothing. He was a master of his game, dropping hints just right enough to pique my curiosity but never revealing anything tangible.

Deep down, I was certain. Something wasn't right. Despite Leo's evasive tactics, his unease was unmistakable, it was like a weight he couldn't shake. He hadn't given me any straight answers, but his hesitations spoke volumes. My gut told me one thing: my father really had something to do with my mother's death.

I felt it deep inside, like a chill spreading through my veins. A cold, hard fact settled in my bones. No proof was needed; the pieces fit. My mother's death, the unanswered questions from my childhood, and Leo's evasive behavior – it all added up. My father was hiding something.
