CHAPTER Sixty Three A Lady In Distress

  Elena's POV.

I turned around and left, my mind still reeling from the encounter with Derek. I saw a cab approaching and hailed it, hopping in as soon as it stopped. As I settled into the back seat, my mind drifted back to Derek. No matter how hard I tried to push the thoughts away, they kept coming back to me.

"Maybe he's in distress," Olivia's voice echoed in my mind.

I shook my head, trying to clear the thoughts. "He should learn to manage his emotions and not hurt me in the process," I responded, feeling frustrated and hurt.

"Just stay calm," Olivia's voice whispered back.

I took a deep breath, trying to let go of the tension and focus on the present moment. But my mind kept wandering back to Derek, wondering what had driven him to be so distant and cold towards me.
