CHAPTER Sixty Five A Threat

  Richard's POV.

"Get the files for me, now!" I barked at the guard, my anger and impatience evident in my tone. He nodded hastily and bowed down, scurrying away.

I hated the fact that he was being sluggish. I paced back and forth in my chair, my mind racing with thoughts of how I could use the files to my advantage.

It was a good thing Derek had taken such a large amount of money from the account. It was enough to implicate him and portray him as a corrupt person to our father. Derek was making my job easier for me, and I couldn't help but smile at the thought.

With a sigh, I stood up, still pacing back and forth. Then, the door burst open, and the guard returned, bowing slightly.

"My lord, here is the file you asked for," he said, holding out the folder.

I nodded, taking it from him and opening it to confirm the contents. "Good, you can go," I said, dismissing him with a wave of my hand.
