Elena's POV.
I arranged my bed not wanting the maids to do it. When I was done, I dragged my feet to the dressing table, changing into my pajamas with a sense of resignation. I placed my phone on the nightstand, my eyes involuntarily darting to it, hoping against hope that Derek had messaged me. But there was nothing.
I had avoided school for days, just to avoid him. I wasn't sure how much longer I could hide, or how much longer I could resist him if I saw him. The truth was, I had been giving my all to this relationship, and it felt like it was all one-sided.
I sighed, feeling the weight of my emotions, and tried to prepare myself for the inevitable - facing him at school tomorrow.
