Derek's POV.
I woke up with a groan, my body aching all over. I desperately needed more sleep, but I couldn't afford to indulge in it. I had to go to work. As I reached for my phone, I half-expected to see a message from Elena, but there was none. It had been a week since she last contacted me, and her silence was starting to worry me.
I let out a weary sigh as I headed to the bathroom to start my morning routine. After a refreshing bath and dressing, I headed out the door and drove off.
My mind was preoccupied with thoughts of Elena, who had missed school for a whole week now. I hoped she would finally show up today.
I arrived at the school and made my way to the training center, my footsteps echoing through the hallway.
"Good morning, sir!" the students chimed in unison, but I merely waved my hand in acknowledgement, my gaze scanning the room with a sense of anticipation.
