CHAPTER 89: A different Caleb

  Blair's pov

The only people standing were Sinclair, Gabriel, Caleb, and I, and so all eyes were fixed on us. On me, most especially.

My knees felt like rubber, and my heart pounded continuously. I couldn't feel my palms again because they became numb and sweaty.

Everyone murmured loudly, and I tried to pick out a few words from what they were saying, but the only thing I could grasp were the hate comments.

"Silence!" The leader of the Council howled, and there was dead silence. If one pays close attention, I'm very sure they'll hear my heart racing.

"Caleb, are you sure your eyes were kept shut all through the time of the ritual?" The elder asked, and everyone shifted their attention to Caleb, who was fuming at one end.

"Of course, my eyes were closed!" He replied, and everyone turned back to the elder like there was some remote controlling us all.
