Calista
I watched as Zane stepped out onto the balcony to make the call, leaving me with Cedric and Draven.
Cedric gave me a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Calista. Even if you can't use the kitchen for a while, we'll figure something out. We won't let you go hungry."
Draven nodded. "We'll make sure you're taken care of. You're not alone in this."
I can't help but smile. I always wanted to do this to thank them and to show them that I could finally handle things on my own, but now, this happened. Does it happen for a reason?
"Thank you," I said softly, meeting their eyes. "I appreciate it. I just... I wanted to show my gratitude to you guys, and to make things up," I whispered, wrapping my chest with my hand.
Draven's gaze softened, and he stepped closer, his voice gentle. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to be independent, Calista. But it's also okay to ask for help when you need it. You don't have to do everything alone."
