CHAPTER 103 Even Better

  I hesitated for a moment, glancing around my now smoke-free but still chaotic kitchen. The idea of trying to cook another meal after tonight's disaster was unappealing, to say the least. But spending time with them and thinking about our bond when we were in Boston sounds like a good idea. It would be nice to revisit those memories, to be surrounded by the people who helped me grow in Boston.

  "Alright," I said, finally allowing myself to smile. "That sounds perfect. Let's do it."

  Zane's grin widened as he clapped his hands together. "Great! Let's get out of here before the smell of burnt chicken gets stuck in our clothes."

  We quickly gathered our things and headed out the door, leaving the mess of my kitchen behind.

  The walk to their rented house wasn't long, and as we approached, I felt a wave of nostalgia wash over me. The house looked just like what we had in Boston- as it had when I first arrived as an exchange student- cozy, inviting, and full of life.
