Lydia's POV
The baseball bat is held tightly in my hand. It is much better to stay safe for myself than call anyone for help. There is no one around, and I don't want the burglar to escape while I am distracted and not present at the scene.
An insane amount of bravery and courage is flowing in my body as I slowly push the door open. I didn't know what to anticipate. It's eight in the morning, nothing could go wrong now.
However, the weather outside is dull and gloomy. I had come to realize that Levi had left the curtains open for his window. His apartment has a different layout than mine. It is bigger and has a huge French window to the corner of the hall, which connects to the kitchen on the right and the staircase to the left of the window.
The thunder from outside makes my body shudder. I cower in fear, anticipation even.
