CHAPTER 60: Still unhappy

  Lydia's POV

Monday morning rolls by. It's been a tough day. It's been a hectic week all over, too. As soon as I entered the lobby, the receptionist took my name loudly amongst the buzzing morning crowd.

"Yes, ma'am?" I report myself to the front desk, swiping my ID card in the process.

"The Chief wishes to talk to you, Ms. White. Take the direct elevator." She says, my eyes widen. That is a special elevator used only by the officials to cut past the crowd at these times.

"Alright..." weird out by the sudden morning news already, I follow her instructions and reach the Chief's floor quickly. The Chief looked at me from his window and waved at me with a big smile on his face.

"Good morning, Chief—" before I could complete my greeting, the old man approaches me with a huge grin and holds my shoulders firmly!

"Look at the screen, new girl!" He turns me to look at the news channel. My eyes widen.
