CHAPTER 59: Frantic

[BACK TO THE PRESENT TIMELINE, HOCKEY DAILY BUILDING]

  Lydia's POV

Well, all plans of mine have gone down the drain. The evening was totally ruined. Everything that I planned on doing, every member I wanted to approach and get more information out of was shot down by just one article's headlines.

  Off-season...

It is all such a big mess. Disheartened, tired of everything and most importantly, scared for my life, I set the clock out at a regular time to go home and spend the weekend of my own free will. Grace must have reached home today. Fridays are usually half-day virtues for her department.

On my way to our apartment, I grab a few quick snacks and show up surprisingly early for Grace.

"Grace. We need to talk. But first, let's fill our tummies. I'm hecking hungry." I say to her, she nods almost immediately, vigorously. We serve each other some Chinese fast food and fries on the side and sit down on the couch, avoiding the table like the plague.
